If You Love a Flower

Flowers in the wild in Elbow Falls Recreation Area

"If you love a flower, don’t pick it up. Because if you pick it up it dies and it ceases to be what you love. So if you love a flower, let it be. Love is not about possession. Love is about appreciation." – Osho

Wild flowers have a magic all of their own.  It is like finding a treasure!  It shows that that part of the world is in balance.  The wild things are to be celebrated and protected, and not destroyed.

Many blessings,

Judy

Giving

image

An act of giving is of most benefit when one gives something of value, carefully, with one’s own hand, while showing respect, and with a view that something wholesome will come of it. The same is true when one gives out of faith, respectfully, at the right time, with a generous heart, and without causing denigration.  - Andrew Olendzki, "Dana: The Practice of Giving"

I was putting together a bag of clothes that we no longer use, and looked around the house for stuff – knick knacks, jewellery, dishes – that we no longer use.  I am working at getting our household to a simpler level of maintenance.

When I sat down at my computer, I was pleased to see the above quote sitting in my inbox on my mail.  I love this quote!  While I don’t necessarily hand deliver everything, I certainly select what I give with much thought, and, I test to see whether the object is for the best and highest good of the receiver.  I also test to see if the object is good over the next year, if the answer is ‘yes, this is good for the receiver’.  If the object is only good for a day or a week, to me, there is no point in giving it.

I like to give things to my family and to my friends.  I especially like to give herbs and aloe vera slips to people because the plants are so helpful.  What I have found too, is that plants like to move from place to place – at least some of them do.  So, for me, giving a plant is a win-win for the person and the plant.

I often wonder if, at the back of what is going on, Creator and my Angels are having a chuckle at how easily they can guide me to give something to someone who needs it.  I don’t mean that they are laughing at me; I mean, they are laughing with joy because I am joyful at the time, too.

Many Blessings,

Judy

The Beat Goes On!

image

Lots of energy is moving through the Earth right now.  It is making some people tired and cranky; others – it is making crazy.  And still others are experiencing loss of control, and struggle with their situations to regain control, often at the expense of people closest to them, for who else will recognize their authority?

Great Spirit says that when all is moving to chaos, stop and hear the beat.  The beat is the rhythm of the Universe.  There is someone who will always hear it.  The Beat is the heartbeat of Creator/Creation.  The sound is a steady one-two-three-four-five-six-seven-eight beat, played over and over.  It strengthens us and balances us.  We hear it in the sound of horses running, or the sound of running water, and even the sound of traffic.  It moves us forward.

Listen for the beat – the beat goes on!

A Pinto Horse Visits in Dream Time

image

Last night, a beautiful, pinto horse trotted into my dreams.  I was having some difficulty with something big attacking me.  I cannot remember exactly what was going on.  I do remember that the minute this big horse showed up, everything changed!

I ended up sitting on a rock, and Pinto was alternately grazing and talking to me.  The message was that we had an agreement of some sort.   The agreement was that he would pop in and set things right when they were looking bad for me because I had done the same thing for him at some future date.

The idea of “future date” really intrigued me.  He looked at me and said that it was difficult to explain the concept of the time of “no time” when my current structure was based on the concept of past, present, and future.  He tried to show me the idea of time based on possibilities and that one can go anywhere based on the possibility.

He said that he always knew where I was because of  our connection.

And then he winked out!

Judy

Rabbit Habits - Spirit Animal

image

I was sitting at a stop light on a very busy street, when a movement along the road caught my eye.  There was a small, brown bunny hopping from one patch of clover grass to another, without any concern for the traffic.  Bunny was on the outside boulevard between the main road and a service road.  The boulevard had to be about four feet wide.  When it needed a rest, it hopped over to a bush and lay down, stretched out, and dozed.

Since I had to sit through two lights, I had time to observe Bunny.  After a short doze, maybe three minutes, she hopped up, and went back to grazing.  Her habits seemed to be:

  • ignore the traffic noise
  • find the best food – new clover and new grass
  • get plenty of rest
  • understand where my boundaries are

I thought about what people could learn from Bunny’s habits.

   -ignore what you can’t change

-eat what is healthy and good for you

-rest when you are tired or when your body sends signals for you to rest

-look at what boundaries keep you locked in to a repetitive routine

Have a “hoppy” day!

Many blessings,

Judy

Happy vs Unhappy

From the site - https://jessicadimas.com/spiritual-quotes/

I was reading an article about a First Nations village in Northern Alberta that had to be evacuated because the fire was coming so quickly.  Many had dogs in their families.  The evacuation team said that after the people were settled safely, they would come back for the dogs.  Before the helicopters got back, another village was under evacuation order and the helicopters never got back.  Three people stayed to look after the sixty dogs hoping that the fire would not wipe them all out.  Five days later, the people were allowed to return.  All rushed to find their dogs and according to the eye witnesses, many cried tears of joy.

It made me think about happy people.  Happy people are filled with love and joy and have an abundance of both to share with others.  I know because I am lucky enough to have several very happy friends.  They are always working on little projects and learning new things.  I have never heard them blame anyone else or any circumstance for their place in life.

Many blessings,

Judy

How Important Is Our Stuff In The Overall Universal Plan?

Image is from https://www.womansday.com/life/a39788446/spiritual-quotes/

Over the years, one of the very important lessons that I have learned is that our daily lives, the work that we do in a corporation or the fights/wars that we battle for others, has very little significance to the Universe.

Yes, we do need to work to make money to have food and shelter and clothes, yet at the end of the day, when our families are gone long after we are gone, no one remembers those things. The Universe is interested in the love that we show each other.  She/he/it wants to see balance and compassion and a love of Nature.  Mindfulness is also interesting to the Universe as is the ability to detach from emotional situations and become the observer.

I am still adapting to all the instances that are of Universal interest.  Where are you on the journey?

Many blessings,
Judy

Vibration is in Everything

Poster comes from an email of different sayings from friends.

We all know that everything is made up of energy.  We also know from our science and physic classes that everything has a different vibration.  When I saw this poster, it started me thinking about the humans that surround me at different times and the energy that I feel in different places.

When you determine what energy feels good to you, you determine how your life will manifest.

Many blessings,

Redefine Yourself!

Picture from Highwood Trail, part of Kananaskis Country

The following motivations come from https://www.dailymotivation.site/?utm_source=dailynewsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=daily

  • You are not defined by your past.

  • Things have changed and so have you.

  • Life is dynamic. Don't limit yourself to what once was.

  • Stop over-thinking what has happenedFocus on living well in the present.

  • The present moment is giving you opportunities to create better experiences and transform your perspective.

I see so many people, friends and family included, who are stuck in a past situation.  For me, this is a sign of PTSD.  A trauma occurred and now the person is stuck.  If one is truly in balance as Nature intended, the past is a rolling event that is like a past movie.  Details are difficult to recall.  However, when someone keeps repeating the same story of an event that happened and how they are the victim in the story, the person gets time-locked in that emotion and in the reactions.  Talk about stuck in a rut!

So the solution to being stuck is to let it go!  It is not the situation that is the problem but how one reacts to it.

What changes will you make this week?

Many Blessings,
Judy

On Being Happy

A picture of infinite possibilities taken from pull out on Highwood Trail

For the last several weeks, the quote below, on happiness, keeps popping up either in my email or on sites that I look at.

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion. - the Dalai Lama

I decided that I really needed to look at my happiness and look at whether I was truly happy.  We know that happiness comes from inside you and not from external sources.  And yet, as I examined my life and my home and yard and all our friends and neighbours, I concluded that I am happy.  I love my life!  I love that we have beautiful flowers and a bountiful garden and herb garden. I love that we can sit and have coffee on the deck in the morning.  I love that I have time to meditate and to walk in Nature, and to sit on the Earth and feel the life that flows from it.

I then looked at my compassion.  The meaning of compassion as defined by the University of Berkeley in California is:

Compassion literally means “to suffer together

.” Among emotion researchers, it is defined as the feeling that arises when you are confronted with another's suffering and feel motivated to relieve that suffering. Compassion is not the same as empathy or altruism, though the concepts are related. - https://greatergood.berkeley.edu/topic/compassion/definition#:~:text=Compassion%20literally%20means%20%E2%80%9Cto%20suffer,though%20the%20concepts%20are%20related.

Based on this definition, compassion is at the far end of my bar of happiness. I do not feel compelled to search out people that are suffering.  I realize that compassion is something that I need to work on.

May you all have much happiness in your days.

Many blessings,

Judy

One Person Makes a Difference!

image

I seem to be doing new things daily, a change from where I was a year ago.  I wondered why I was moving forward, doing all these new things.  Then, I read this poem and I realized that I was being given a great chance to be in service, for you see, I am one!

Just One

Author Unknown

One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.

One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal

One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.

One step must start each journey.
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.

One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what's true,

One life can make a difference,

You see, it's up to you!

Many blessings,

Never Give Up!

                                         image

Picture comes from an email and where it originated is unknown

Healing words from the Dali Lama:

Never Give up
No matter what is going on
Never Give up
Develop the heart
Too much energy is spent developing the mind
instead of the heart
Be compassionate
Work for peace
and I say again
Never Give up
No matter what is happening
No matter what is going on around you
Never Give up

One of the commonalities between many of the very old traditions, that is, before Christianity, is the spirit of perseverance.  What I am seeing as I meet people over the last six months is that sense of despair and of having given up.

As I expand my sight to see what is really going on, I see that the despair is borne from the disparaging words from others – others who tell them that everything is awful, or that they’ll never get it right, or….

The picture that I see is that others around them cause the person’s sense of desperation and defeat.  Living to the words of others rather than what is in yourself is truly the way to losing your way.

I love the words from the Dali Lama – Never Give Up, No matter what is going on around you.

Many blessings,

Judy

Moose Meditation

image

This is a walking meditation – which means you say it over and over as you walk.

I am in touch with the Earth.

I feel the water on my legs.

I crunch what I eat between my teeth.

I know that I am nourished with the best that I can receive.

If it isn’t good food, then I must learn to receive better things in my life.

I am grateful for all that I have.

Thank you, thank you , thank you

Many blessings,

Right Eating

image

A surprisingly large portion of the Vinaya [monastic code]’s two hundred and fifty rules advocate a proper way to eat. “A lot of things are based on this idea of eating food properly,” the Tibetan teacher Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche taught his American students, “which is how to behave as a basically decent person.”  –Sandra Garson, "Food for Enlightenment" A Buddhist book often used for teaching.

The idea of right eating has been around for a long time.  However, for me, over the last several weeks, the need to eat the best food in the healthiest manner, has been pushing at me.  I want green, clean food.  I want food that is home made. And, I want food that boosts my immune system.  It feels that a strong immune system will be very important towards the end of 2011.

When I say I crave green – I am not saying that I will not eat meat.  I was reading a teaching about meat eating in Buddhism.  I’d like to share part of it with you.

In the days of the Buddha, the Buddhist monks wandered from village to village carrying minimum necessities, which included a begging bowl. They ate whatever food that was given to them, without preference and choice as a part of their effort to control greed and desires. Since choice meant desire, they shunned all preferences and choices in matters of living and practicing the Buddhist Dharma. The tolerated harsh conditions of life and accepted them as opportunities to practice the Eightfold Path. They observed the same discipline in matters of eating food. When they passed through a village and if someone offered them meat, they ate it dispassionately, without craving or contempt.

The essential practice of Buddhism, which was based on the Four Noble Truth and The Eightfold Path precluded any possibility of seeking and desiring on the part of the monks. The teachings of the Buddha encouraged them to overcome their desires and live unconditionally with an ethical bent of mind. Thus there were no restrictions on meat eating in the early days of Buddhism. This practice continues till today in many schools of Buddhism. For the followers of the Buddha, right resolve or right intention is more important than the superficial display of morality, which is defined as "resolved on renunciation, on freedom from ill-will and on harmlessness.

- from a teaching by Jayarm V

Everyone gets to make up their own mind about what they eat and how they eat it.  I believe that decision should come from the heart, not because someone says so.

May you choose what is right for you and may you allow others the same right.

Many blessings,

Judy

Is There A Right Choice?

Poster comes from an email from a friend

Several days ago, a friend and I were talking about how one can know if they are making the right choice.  Her opinion was that if it moves you forward, then it is the correct choice.  I did not disagree with her.

However, later, as I thought about it, I think that there are many factors to making a right choice.  For me, if a choice feels right and resonates through my heart, then it is the right choice for me.  Granted, it may not be the right choice for someone else.

One of the easiest, safest places for me to make my choices is out on a walk in the forest in the park or in the mountains.  Nature provides a balanced, neutral space for us to unravel our inner thoughts and to focus on a particular point without pressure.

I also think there are degrees of choices that warrant more consideration than others.  For example, the choice of whether I have oatmeal or eggs for breakfast is a very simple choice and does not affect world peace.  Other choices like whether to take a plane or drive to a far off destination has more impact on everyone.  Similarly, the choice about whether to support one political party over the other, or whether to support the SPCA or not, can have consequences that you are not aware of.  Those choices may affect both humans and animals.  The choice to support or not, however, is not right or wrong because that judgement comes from outside.  Each choice that you make is right for you.

Many blessings,

Judy

Earthworm is A Caretaker - Spirit Animal

image

Earthworms are the caretakers of our flower beds and of our garden.  As Earthworms fascinate me, I thought I would share some of the information that I found about Earthworm on Wikipedia.

“Worms can make gurgling noises underground when disturbed as a result of the worm moving through its lubricated tunnels. They also work as biological "pistons" forcing air through the tunnels as they move. Thus earthworm activity aerates and mixes the soil, and is constructive to mineralization and nutrient uptake by vegetation.

Investigations in the US show that fresh earthworm casts are 5 times richer in available nitrogen, 7 times richer in available phosphates and 11 times richer in available potash than the surrounding upper 6 inches (150 mm) of soil. In conditions where there is plenty of available humus, the weight of casts produced may be greater than 4.5 kg (10 lb) per worm per year, in itself an indicator of why it pays the gardener or farmer to keep worm populations high.– from Wikipedia”

Earthworm, as you can see from the Wikipedia information, is a powerful caretaker of the soil, and therefore, of all of us on the planet.  Yet, Earthworm receives little credit for all that it does.  The Earthworm, who never asks for anything in all of the legends, is now asking for your help.

  • When you see a stranded Earthworm –  on pavement or a sidewalk, and if it is possible, put them back on the soil.
  • If you have no Earthworms in your flower beds or in your garden, get some.  Get them from a neighbour or from a green house.
  • Send a blessing to Earthworm for all that it does.

Many blessings,
Judy

The Patience of Water

Picture of Fish Creek flowing through the area known as Votier Flats in Fish Creek Park

Two weeks ago, I went walking with my friend in Votier Flats.  Even though it was quite warm out at 10 in the morning, the park was full of walkers, hikers, bikers, and large groups.  We spent most of our time walking along Fish Creek and when we could, going right down to the edge of the creek.

As I watched the creek, I noticed how the water hurried along in some places and in other places, seemed to stand still.  I could see where the water worked away against a large rock, batting away at the rock as it tried to wear it down.

I marvelled at the patience of the water, how it seemed to be happy to bat at the rock, and swirl in an eddy at a large bank, and yet be gentle along a sandy strip of beach.  People are not nearly so patient or so adaptable.  It seems that most people strike out rather than patiently finding a way to get what they need.  When we are demanding, we are out of balance with everything and we end up getting in our own way.

Many blessings,

Judy

Cow To the Rescue! - Spirit Animal

image
Picture from an email, origin not known.

Normally one thinks of a mother cow protecting her baby, her calf, and this seems pretty normal.  Cows are one of the most protective parent animals in the animal kingdom.

The other night I had a dream.  In the dream, I was running from four men who were chasing me because they believed that I had stolen money from them.  In the dream, i had stumbled across a drug deal gone bad in a rural area.  Because I happened to be the closest to the scene, the “bad guys” assumed that I was the guilty party.  They did not even ask; they just started yelling at me, firing a gun over my head, and running.  When someone does that to you, the instinct is to run and get away at all costs.

I slipped through the fence, and into a cow pasture.  I was running towards the small river about a quarter of  a mile away.  The cows did not seem to notice me.  Then the bad guys climbed through the fence.  As one, all the cows swung and looked at them.  There was this huge bellowing moooo sound, and all the cows rushed at the bad guys.  The cows stomped on them, butted them, trampled them, and basically took them out of commission.  I was so dumbfounded that I stood with my mouth open.  The cows all came over and sniffed me, and licked me to make sure that I was all right.  And, then they went back to grazing.   I went and looked at the bad guys.  They looked quite dead.  I then looked at the cows, all quiet and grazing.   I would have never guessed that there was that kind of power in cows to protect a human.  I started to grin.

I woke up sort of laughing and shaking my head.  I wondered what the dream was telling me.  Here are some of the teachings:

  • Know that you are always taken care of.
  • Know that help will come from unexpected places.
  • All beings are related and feel your emotions.
  • Protect the children

I now think of cows even more fondly than before,  I am glad I had such an uplifting dream.  May you have wonderful dreams, too!

Many blessings,
Judy

Truth and Willingness

My challenge for the day is to meditate on the words “truth” and “willingness”.   These are really tough words to put together to come up with an “aha” moment.

image

Truth, of course, is always the way that the different parties understand a situation.  Truth can be altered by the emphasis put on different words in a sentence.  Truth for me is different than truth for you.  When I looked up “truth” in the dictionary, I had a difficult time determining what the “true” definition is.

Albert Einstein said, “The ideas that have lighted my way have been kindness, beauty and truth.”

Gustav Le Bon has said, “Science has promised us truth. It has never promised us either peace or happiness.”

Marcus Aurelius, Roman Emperor, had this view of truth - Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.

The truth, for me, is intangible, however, it has a feeling.  It has a rightness about it.  So I guess that “willingness” then, is the determination to move through life acknowledging the feeling of truth, and following what feels right.

I can do that.

Many Blessings,

Judy

Fear of Failure

image

The Angels tell us that there is no such thing as success or failure.  They also tell us that we can have fear of both of these situations.  They suggest that the biggest fear is that of drawing attention to ourselves.  This comes from our Ancestor’s day.

In the past, when you drew attention to your self, often, you were killed in some way – eaten by a hungry animal, killed by the enemy, or disposed of by someone who feared your power.

The challenge that we all have is to move through our daily routines in a fashion that does not judge what we do as a success or failure.  Each action we take is a learning action, and one that helps our progress forward.

I like this quote….

Have a wonderful day and observe any fear that comes up.

Many blessings,

Thoughts About Family

We are in the midst of summer vacation time.  Often, summer vacation means taking time to see family and friends.  Vacation for you is not at the top of the priority list.  The stress starts when we have to deal with family and friends who are family, and we are feeling the pressure to “do things just right”; “to have things perfect”; “to meet others expectations”; and, “to perform”.  Alas, vacation is just another form of stress for many.

The Angels have given me some thoughts around this.  Funnily enough, they come from others who have to deal with family, too.

May your time with your family be healing and healthy, and provide you with the love and the guidance that carries you through your days with a song in your heart!  The quotes below from great authors will tell you that everyone has to deal with family/friends and their expectations.

Family quarrels have a total bitterness unmatched by others. Yet it sometimes happens that they also have a kind of tang, a pleasantness beneath the unpleasantness, based on the tacit understanding that this is not for keeps; that any limb you climb out on will still be there later for you to climb back.
-- Mignon McLaughlin

Feelings of worth can flourish only in an atmosphere where individual differences are appreciated, mistakes are tolerated, communication is open, and rules are flexible -- the kind of atmosphere that is found in a nurturing family.
-- Virginia Satir

I know why families were created with all their imperfections. They humanize you. They are made to make you forget yourself occasionally, so that the beautiful balance of life is not destroyed.
-- Anais Nin

Family life is full of major and minor crises -- the ups and downs of health, success and failure in career, marriage, and divorce -- and all kinds of characters. It is tied to places and events and histories. With all of these felt details, life etches itself into memory and personality. It's difficult to imagine anything more nourishing to the soul.
-- Thomas Moore
Whatever you choose to do on your summer vacation/time off, do what pleases you.

Many blessings,
Judy

Healing in Nature

Pictures taken by Judy Hirst in the Elbow Falls Recreation Area

Last week, we were able to head off to the mountains and spend time along the Elbow River in the Elbow Falls Recreation Area.  We had a chance to hike and climb up a small mountain that gave us the view of the river valley.

The feeling of peace, serenity, grace, and abundance filled the energy in the space that we found to have lunch.  There were so many butterflies and lots of wild flowers along the path.  Bird song filled the quiet.  And sometimes it was gophers whistling that disturbed the peace.  It all felt so good.

Being out in Nature made us both feel lighter and eased some aches.  I felt a deep healing of the stress in my shoulders.  In fact, one bird song sounded like “it doesn’t matter”.  It felt so good.

If you have a chance over the next several weeks, try to get out into a park and walk in the bush.  It will do wonders for your soul.

Many blessings,
Judy

The Garage Door Test

Picture from Valley Garage Doors at ValleyGaragedoors.com

My husband and I watched “The Good Fight” TV show on Netflix the other night.  We were both struck by the words of wisdom from the television Mother to her daughter.  The daughter did not know whether her lover was the right partner for her, or not.  Mother said to use the “garage door test” to determine if he was the right person or not.

The way the test works is when you are driving up to the garage and you open the door are you happy the person’s car is there and that he/she is home, or does it make you sad or irritated.  If you don’t have a garage, when you see the person’s car parked by your residence, does it make you happy or sad/annoyed.

What the Mother was really saying is that the “garage door test” is a way to discern how you feel about the other person and it can be used to determine if you love the other person.  Now remember that love is not just about couples but also applies to your friends and family.  How do you feel about them?  The garage door test or car test works.

This test is a great way to gage love in your life.  My husband and I talked about how we feel when we come home and the other person’s car is not in the garage.  Each of us feels a little sad because we were looking forward to coming home and sharing what the day or event that we were at, was like.

I don’t believe that this test is the only way to determine love.  It is an interesting way.  It makes sense.  It provides a quick evaluation of the balance of life in the relationship.  It sums up where the relationship should go.

In the world, even in the Universe, there is no sure way to determine love because love is not visible and it is so emotional.  Perhaps this is a new tool for us all to use.

Many blessings,

Judy

Hippopotamus Has Rules - Spirit Animal

 image

Picture from junglephotos.com

Hippopotamus lives a very  peaceful life.  That is because she has a set of guidelines or rules, to govern her life.  She encourages us to adapt her rules because they have kept the hippopotamus alive for sixty thousand years, and these rules have allowed her to evolve.

  1. Pick your environment, and know it well.  Our environment is a gift from our cousins, the Whale family.  This allows us to be in mostly a freshwater marine environment. We are always watchful about who or what enters our territory, and we defend our area vehemently.  You, who harass us, call us vicious.  Perhaps when you invade someone else’s country, you would call their reaction vicious as well.
  2. Water is necessary for life.  It is how we live.  Water protects us from predators, from sunburn, from dehydration, from fear of drowning or flooding, and from famine.  All that we need comes from water.  We share our water with other animals as long as they are not invasive.
  3. We eat greens – all kinds, but mostly grass.  We have one food that is particularly good for us and we stick to it.  Too much variety in the diet leads to discomfort, which is stressful, and which causes aggressive behaviour. It may be that you need to eat less variety and more of the healthy greens like we do.
  4. We band together to keep one another safe.  Yet, we do not form close attachments because there is no need.  Therefore, there is little drama in the pod.  We each do our own thing, together.  Perhaps you get too caught up on one another’s lives, which is why your life does not seem peaceful.
  5. Our life is peaceful.  We have oneness in our pod.  We move together.  We have little to fight about.  Life is good.
Many Blessings,
Judy

Willingness

image

Helpful picture from picsdigger.com

My word of the day from the Angels is the word “willingness”.  Merriam-Webster dictionary online provides the meanings of willing as:

1: inclined or favourably disposed in mind : ready <willingand eager to help>

2: prompt to act or respond <lending a willing hand>

3: done, borne, or accepted by choice or without reluctance <a willing sacrifice>

4: of or relating to the will or power of choosing

As I meditated on the word “willingness”, I wondered why that was coming up for me.  I believe that I am very willing to be in service to the Universe.  I help others.  I teach others.  I go where I am called.

As I thought about these things a picture began to form in my mind of several occasions in the last while where I was reluctant to answer “the call” because the call was to do several difficult things.  I did go, but very slowly.  For once, my impatience to do something was curbed.

I was beginning to see why the word was coming up in my meditation.  I have been willing, in the past, to do the difficult tasks as well as the easy tasks.  In fact, I seemed to thrive on the difficult.  So, what had caused the change for me?  I asked for clarification of my reluctance, and I saw, on the screen in my mind, that during those reluctant times, I was tired, and I had been faced with some family issues, and, I had not been doing long, strong meditations to stay feeling happy and in condition to face any challenge.

So, there is an underlying message in the word, “willingness”.  Behind the reminder that I am in service was the reminder to keep myself whole so that I can be a willing light worker.

May you find your place and your willingness to be in service.

Many blessings,

Judy

Star Fish - Spirit Animal

 image

Picture of purple starfish from www.nefsc.noaa.gov

“There are 2,000 living species of starfish that occur in all the world's oceans, including the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian as well as in the Arctic and the Southern Ocean (i.e., Antarctic) regions. Starfish occur across a broad depth range from the intertidal to abyssal depths (>6000 m).”  from Wikipedia

When Starfish began to pop up in my meditations and thoughts, I realized that I knew nothing about this fascinating creature, other than it looked “nice”.  It is hard for me to think of it as a fish or an animal because, when we see it, it seems so still.  However, Starfish, like the other animals, shows up when it has a message.

Like the “Star” card in the Tarot decks, Starfish is about vision, hope, success, healing, and creativity.  Each time we look at the stars in the sky, we wish and hope for the best possible outcome for whatever new endeavour that we have started.  Starfish, is the stars in the sky, on the Earth. (As above, so below!)  She tells us that we are on the right path; that we have the correct vision because it corresponds with the vision in the Universe; that we will have joy in the new relationships (business and others) that we are forming; and, finally, that Light illuminates our path.

Starfish is symbolic of all that is great and good with Nature.  She symbolizes the perfection of Oneness by showing us the geometric design that are five perfect little triangles, stuck together. She may look like a slice from a Merkaba, or, she may be representative of the Tree of Life.  Whatever, she is all about optimism.

When Starfish shows up, she steps before us, imitating the “Hollywood Walk of Fame” that salutes the stars of the movies.  Starfish, is gracefully saluting us, and offering her support.  How much better can life be?

Wishing you many blessings,

Judy
