50 Golden Rules For Life

Picture of mountains in Elbow Falls Wilderness Area - by J. Hirst

Often, I find that I need a pick-me-up mental or spiritual boost on some morning.  I read a lot and sometimes find nuggets of good information in places I do not expect to find anything useful.

Last month, I was scanning LinkedIn and found this wonderful posting by Alvin Foo on LinkedIn on February 24 2024.  His thoughts and his rules for life are worth sharing.

The Rabbits’ Mating Dance

image

It seems that spring is coming early this year.  This morning on our walk, my dog and I had a special gift given to us.  We saw about a dozen rabbits gather in an open field to start their mating dance.  They could jump so high!

A gathering of rabbits in this fashion is a gift that heralds abundance and creativity.  This is a gift from the goddess, Eostre, (other names Ostare, Ostara, Ostern, Eostra, Eostre, Eostur, Eastra, Eastur) who is said to be a goddess of the Teutonic era.  Eostre is said to come to Earth in the spring to provide support for the seeding, mating and birthing time.  Any ventures started during this time will be very successful, and the project, business, or trip, will connect you with people that will help you define what your life mission is for the next five to ten years.

The Rabbits have a blessing for you, that all barriers that block you will be diminished by the heights that you are able to soar, above anything you have dreamed of.

Many blessings,

Judy

Releasing Expectations

Somewhere along the evolution of humans, we changed from “allowing ourselves to be in the flow of life” to “trying to control our life and the lives of those around us”.  Wow!

We are so busy trying to be what we think everyone is telling us that we shall be that we lose sight of the wonderful process of self discovery and the joy of finding little miracles and synchronicities each day.

Yes, we need to do some planning.  We need to have shelter and food and some kind of routine.  It seems, however, that we get so caught up in goal setting, achieving success, and being at the top, that we become egocentric or self-absorbed and sometimes ruthless.

The proof of this is that many people that appear to have achieved the greatest successes in their field often just drop out of the profession or career, and go and do something that makes them happy.  They drop out to move more simply in life, to enjoy balance, nature, joy, and self actualization.  These folks create a new life that is very different than their old life and more like our ancestors who moved in the flow.

Yes, we can have expectations.  The thing is that we need to have realistic expectations and not get caught up in the drama of achievement and the struggles that we create by not looking at different ways to get to the place that we want to go.

Strokes, ulcers, heart attacks, and debilitating illnesses seem to be the road blocks that pop up to show folks that the person is on the wrong track of life.

What do you think?

Blessings,
Judy

Star Fish - Spirit Animal

 image

Picture of purple starfish from www.nefsc.noaa.gov

“There are 2,000 living species of starfish that occur in all the world's oceans, including the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian as well as in the Arctic and the Southern Ocean (i.e., Antarctic) regions. Starfish occur across a broad depth range from the intertidal to abyssal depths (>6000 m).”  from Wikipedia

When Starfish began to pop up in my meditations and thoughts, I realized that I knew nothing about this fascinating creature, other than it looked “nice”.  It is hard for me to think of it as a fish or an animal because, when we see it, it seems so still.  However, Starfish, like the other animals, shows up when it has a message.

Like the “Star” card in the Tarot decks, Starfish is about vision, hope, success, healing, and creativity.  Each time we look at the stars in the sky, we wish and hope for the best possible outcome for whatever new endeavour that we have started.  Starfish, is the stars in the sky, on the Earth. (As above, so below!)  She tells us that we are on the right path; that we have the correct vision because it corresponds with the vision in the Universe; that we will have joy in the new relationships (business and others) that we are forming; and, finally, that Light illuminates our path.

Starfish is symbolic of all that is great and good with Nature.  She symbolizes the perfection of Oneness by showing us the geometric design that are five perfect little triangles, stuck together. She may look like a slice from a Merkaba, or, she may be representative of the Tree of Life.  Whatever, she is all about optimism.

When Starfish shows up, she steps before us, imitating the “Hollywood Walk of Fame” that salutes the stars of the movies.  Starfish, is gracefully saluting us, and offering her support.  How much better can life be?

Wishing you many blessings,

Judy

Bored!

“Good-bye. I am leaving because I am bored.”  George Saunders

Picture of boredom from

30tocure30.files.wordpress.com

I saw the quote about boredom, and I tried to see where, in my life, I might be bored.  I could not find a spot of boredom!  So, perhaps I was not defining the thought correctly. I turned to one of my favourite resources, www.thefreedictionary.com, and found this definition of boredom.

Boredom is “the state of being weary and restless through lack of interest”.  Now, that applied to me when I was nearing the end of my time at some jobs that I have held.

Here is what else www.thefreedictionary.com had to say about boredom.  This was under their Thesaurus section.

Boredom or ennui, tedium; dissatisfaction - the feeling of being displeased and discontent; "he was never slow to express his dissatisfaction with the service he received";  blahs - a general feeling of boredom and dissatisfaction; fatigue - (always used with a modifier) boredom resulting from overexposure to something; "he was suffering from museum fatigue"; "after watching TV with her husband she had a bad case of football fatigue"; "the American public is experiencing scandal fatigue"; "political fatigue"
With all of these different meanings of boredom, it almost seems fashionable to be bored!  What I realized as I read through all of this is that boredom really means that there is no excitement; no passion.

Really, what people are saying by being bored is that they want some passion and enthusiasm back in their life.  When passion is absent, people eventually get tired, depressed, and as George Saunders says, they leave.

I wish you passion in your life. I wish you success in all things, but mostly in finding something that fills your heart and makes you spring out of bed in the morning.

Many blessings,
Judy

Reaching To The Stars

We sit in the mud... and reach for the stars.  - Ivan Turgenev

It is intriguing to me that we all yearn for the stars.  Possibly it is because we all come from the stars, from different planets and star seeds.

Whatever your goals are today, I wish you success in reaching your Star.

Many blessings,

Judy
