Buddha Speaks On Generosity

The practice of generosity is the practice of freedom, and it carries with it all the joy and pleasure that are associated with liberation. Indeed, there may be no greater sense of fulfillment in life than the simultaneous feelings of human interconnection and pure freedom that arise from an authentic act of selfless generosity.

- Dale S. Wright, “The Bodhisattva’s Gift”

It is hard to imagine in our world filled with so much abundance, that we collectively seem to have trouble with generosity.  The other part of generosity that puzzles me is that so many people want to tell you a) that you should be generous, and b) how much you need to give in order to be generous.

The conflict for me is the judgement and control that seems to be in our society around generosity.  If generosity must come from the heart, how can someone set standards of giving, or pass judgement on those that they perceive do not give?

The passage above caught my attention because it says “generosity is the practice of freedom”.  The words resonated deep within me.

Generosity is taking time to do something kind for someone else, without acknowledgement from anyone other than the receiver, and if it is anonymous, then without acknowledgement at all.  How wonderful is this gift to self!

Blessings,

Judy

Lady Bug

As the days get warmer, once again, we notice Lady Bugs coming out of no where, to bless our house.  They move to the windows where I pick them up and drop them on my plants.   They keep the leaves clean and shiny for me.  What I am coming to understand is that the Lady Bug is about being grounded and protection.  Her message always seems to be about:

  • having no fear in starting over
  • trusting that what ever quest you are on will receive assistance
  • knowing that you will always end up with abundance

I hope this message speaks to you.

Blessings,

Judy

Be A Happiness Engineer

image

The message from Creator and the Angels today, is about creating happiness for yourself.  Think of all the great monuments in the world, and that they were built by architects, engineers, and willing builders.

Each day, you can be the architect of your day, and plan happiness.  Each day, you can be the engineer that makes happiness happen by looking at all the things that are in your life – the abundance, the home, the family, the friends, and even the dog, and seeing that everything, not just ONE thing, does contribute to happiness.  All of the components are the willing builders that work with you to build happiness, if you allow them to be part of your life.  This means that you do not control them, but, you can suggest to them all the things that build happiness.

Blessings,

Judy

November 1 2024

November waltzes in on the heels of All Hallows‘ Eve or Halloween.  In Celtic and Nordic tradition, this was a time to celebrate the end of the harvest and to put some seeds and grain out at the shrine for those members of the family that have died.

imagePicture of an ancestors’ shrine from www.pathofeire.org

This leads to November 1 which is the traditional time of “Feast of the Dead”.  Although we tend to attribute this festival to the Mexican people, many other countries and belief systems honour their dead at this time.

I love the tradition of the Huron people, in days gone by.  Whenever a large village shifted location, about every 10-15 years, the Huron celebrated a “Feast of the Dead”.  Since the ancestors could not be moved conveniently with the tribe, a special ceremony was held to offer the ancestors a final resting place and to give the ancestors peace. The bodies were removed from their temporary cave graves and buried in a deep pit lined with furs such as beaver and mink. The ceremony showed the reverence and gratitude that all Huron have for their dead. This grand ceremony was the final release of the souls, and the responsibility that the ancestors had to the tribe.  Those souls now released could walk the path up to the sky, to hunt with the Gods, and live a life of abundance.

I also love the description that Marcelina at www.mysticalmind.comwrites of the preparing of the cemetery for “The Feast Of The Dead”. She writes:

The day before the feast, the younger people would have to tidy up the cemetery. The wooden crosses had to be straightened upright, faded, painted headstones had to be touched up, and the weeds needed to be pulled out. Dried leaves and twigs were placed in a pile to make into a bonfire. The whole surroundings must be swept with a broom to clear the spirits’ path who would be attending the feast. Some of the younger women had to plant flowers and herbs, and others needed to set up the altar on the round, flat rock in the cemetery which had been dedicated for this event. Pictures of the departed, fruits, flowers and candles were carefully placed around the altar while a big cross of Jesus Christ stood at the center.

Westerners, in the past, have a tendency to ignore their ancestors. That behaviour seems to be changing, and more people, even if they do not set up a shrine, are saying prayers for their ancestors.  And that, I think, is a good thing!

Judy

Rabbit Runs Around

Over the last while, when I am out with my dog in the park or the neighbourhood, we see a jack rabbit, running through the grass.  Rabbit bounds around us, and my dog wants to run with Rabbit.

Rabbit shares these thoughts with us:

  • Run, leap and jump!  Keeping active will help keep anxiety at bay, and you will feel good.
  • Scout out your area and know where there are trouble spots.  Spread light there.   Watch out for predators however, because they will try to stop you.
  • Abundance happens with movement.  If you do not move, you stagnate and so does the flow of money, chi, and all things that keep you going in the physical.
  • Movement helps keep the change in perspective.  Life is constant change.  Day becomes night, and then the reverse.  It is change, but very familiar.  Keep looking to see what change is constant in your life and then expand the feeling of acceptance.
  • Dance for the Goddess!  Rabbits are the chosen animal of the Goddess, Eostare.  Celebrate the feminine.
  • Dance for the Ancestors.  Rabbits dance for those that have moved on.  We celebrate them.
  • When the Moon is bright, dance under the Moon.  Moon energy is different from Sun energy, and gives you vision.

I thanked Rabbit for sharing her thoughts.

Many blessings,

Judy

Angels Talk of Celebration of Light

The Angels speak and say that it is time to move forward to the time of light.  Many of the different belief systems are writing and speaking about the changing ways that we can look at time and distance and mass.  They are constructs that we have made, and so they  are subject to change.

There is an abundance of everything in the world because everything is energy.  We do not need to believe in scarcity.  The earth changes are showing us how much power Creator has at its finger tips.  We too, have the same power available to us.  We can use it to help Creator, and ourselves move forward.

Judy

Welcome August 1 2024

As the months turn from July into August, the feeling of harvest becomes a reality.  Pickings are available for different berries through to the first beans and peas. In some places, early corn is ready.

Our Celtic Ancestors celebrated the festival of LAMMAS on August first.  Some call it the festival of the new bread.  This is because in some areas, the first wheat crops are ripe and ready to harvest.  The feasting celebrates the Goddess for her goodness in ensuring a great harvest.  Stalks of wheat and ears of corn are offered as tributes to her generosity.

In Aboriginal cultures through North America, the Green Corn Ceremony is celebrated.  Dancing and feasting and offerings to Great Spirit are made to ensure the ongoing abundance of corn, beans and squash.  Mature corn that is ready to roast is the signal for the start of this celebration.

Our Ancestors also believed that with this festival, souls who had not moved on, that is, souls that are stuck on Earth, were given the opportunity, by the generous nature of the Goddess, to move on to the higher dimensions.

Judy

Spirit Talks About Living Off The Land

image

This is a channel that happened late last year that I recorded but did not feel that it was the correct time to share it.  Here is what Spirit said….

“I realize that I was not clear when I said that people on Planet Earth should be living off the land.

Let me explain what I meant.  The idea in my mind was that by living off the land that the people would look after the land and help it replenish.  I did not foresee that people would take out iron ore and forge steel to use to dig out the Earth, and to cover the Earth with tall buildings and super highways.  I did not see that people would want precious gems to grind for colour and for decorations.  I envisioned that people would use goods that the Earth pushed to the surface; not that people would aggressively dig down for these things.

I pictured that all beings would live in the harmony of their cycles.  I was surprised when humans hunted animals for their fur, almost to extinction.  And, my beloved whales are almost decimated by the addiction to hunting them for oil.  Again, Whales already sacrifice and wash up on shore to be harvested.  There was no need to hunt them.

Living off the land was to be a way of life to use that which is freely given – as things appeared to you, they were used.  Somehow, this idea has gotten off track.  It seems time to change it all back.

I will be making some big changes.  Even those people that think they can control all that is will be in for change.

There are some fundamental truths:

  • All things must be done with permission from others, and silence is not consent.
  • All young are to be kept safe from harm.  Note that doing drug experiments on children, food experiments on children, and audio-visual experiments are part of the concept of “harm”, especially if done without parental knowledge and consent.
  • Abundance – having enough food and water – is the way that Earth was set up.  Sharing is the key to this.

Living off the land means taking care of it.  Will you find a way to do this in your own way?”

Many blessings,

Judy

A Dream About Aquarium Fish

This post is from a dream that I wrote up in my journal back many years ago.  I find the old dreams interesting and I look for repeating archetypes and themes in my dreams.

******************

This picture comes from commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Home_aquarium.jpg  (My aquarium does not look nearly this good, nor is it this big!)

image

The other night, in my dreams, a big aquarium popped up, out of no where, and both my fish swam to the side of the tank and looked at me.  They then made everything go dark, and little by little, cleared the blackness so that the tank, and the water, and the scene were filled with clear light.

When I woke up, I knew that the fish wanted me to clean the tank. As I carried out the task, I thought how interesting it was that I was spending an hour cleaning out the tank, and the castle and rocks and filter.  It was very much like sifting through my emotional body, and pulling out the gunk that was sitting in there.

Fish have been a symbol of spirituality and abundance going back to the time of cave drawings.  Fish, like us, come in a variety of colours with a huge range of dispositions.  The most beautiful are sometimes the most deadly.  Scientists agree that all life originated in the oceans/seas/rivers.  Therefore, water on our planet is like a big womb.  And, yes, we all require it to live.  We need to breath air, and assimilate the oxygen in the water.  Fish, then, are symbolic of the fruits of the womb, of motherhood.  They inspire creativity and bring good luck, as the Chinese believe.

Water is always transforming – it evaporates, becomes mist, may fall as rain, and then returns to the Earth to rise up again as water.  Fish, then, represent change.  If they are coming into your life, perhaps they are saying, like they did to me, “It is time to clean up your act and get your house in order for the new things that are coming.”

Blessings,

Judy

Welcome June 2024

IMGP0593

Picture of Fairy Tree in the meadow in Fish Creek Park – from Caro and used with permission.

As we move into the month of June, two things always jump to my mind. One – this is the sacred time of weddings, and two – this is the time of the power of Summer Solstice. What makes June sacred is that the Goddess, Juno (Roman) also called Hera (Greek) is the sacred patron of maidens and women. It is she who blesses unions and blesses the conception of children. In fact Juno blesses all creative acts and her power is strongest in mid summer. She is profoundly feminine, and powerful. Legend has it that Juno causes the wealthy to share their wealth with poorer folks, or for good causes. All the rivers, streams, lakes and oceans are her domain in summer because of the life that is created from the water.

Summer Solstice is a time of gathering of family and tribe. It is a time to celebrate the feminine – the ability to endure and to create. It is a time of healing when we cleanse to make ourselves stronger; when we ask for blessings to prevent tragedy and to protect us and our projects and crops for another year. This is a time of abundance for the first of the harvest – lettuce, green onions, peas, beans, and herbs are now ready.

The full moon in June is called “The Mead Moon” for this is the best time for making dandelion wine and honey wine.   June’s emotions are about loyalty and bonding.  Our Ancestors also knew that June, with its unpredictable weather, is about enduring and continuing.  Healers often pick herbs at this time because the strong summer sun and moon are good vibrations for the harvesting of herbs for cleansing, strengthening, and for protection.

May your June be sunny and happy!

Judy

Happy Easter Sunday- March 31 2024 - And Rabbit

image

Easter always makes me think of bunnies.. and spring…and it makes me happy.  In our area in Calgary, we only see Rabbit from time to time because we also have Bobcat.

Thinking about bunnies and rabbits makes me think about the “magic” of Rabbit.  No, I don’t think of Easter eggs.  I do think of how powerful Rabbit is in the spiritual world.

When Rabbit hops in and out of your daily life, and leaps about in your dreams, then you know that something “big” is happening!

Rabbit has often been a symbol of fertility, abundance, and beginnings.  Now, Rabbit is showing up all over the place in urban areas, and being seen by people that would not normally notice her.  They talk about Rabbit nibbling on their grass in the back alleys, about Rabbit and her friends jumping around and not seemingly that afraid of cats and dogs.  Mostly, they talk about how excited they feel to see Rabbit.

Rabbit, like her mythological counterpart, The Easter Bunny, is bringing that sense of joy and wonderment.  She makes people feel excited and helps them back off the “fear” factor that many feel right now.  She is helping us grow at a soul level by “leaps and bounds”.

Happy Easter!

Eat Green To Reconnect With The Earth

image

For those of us that are still in snow covered areas, where Spring is taking a while to move forward, our vitamins and minerals are depleting.  Perhaps people who are living in weather troubled areas of flooding and drought are also experiencing this problem.

The Angels have been saying that we need to reconnect with the Earth, and to do that, we need to replenish the vitamins and minerals that have been leeching out of our bodies with over use of processed or fast food options.

We have abundance in our lives, and we can choose to take the food that is nourishing.  Our Ancestors knew to dry green things to eat through the winter and into Spring.  The green food wants to be in service to help all beings.  With the inclusion of greens into our bodies, we help the greens become so much more.  Eventually, we all return to the Earth to begin again.

Great Spirit has created natural processes to nurture us.  The Oceans assist the greens by creating different climates, and by providing moisture in the form of rain or snow.  The rain and snow carry light which is absorbed into the food.  We are grow with oxygen in our food, and the light in the oxygen.

Choose the greens grown close to home, if possible, to re-affirm your connection with the place that you are now living.  Celebrate the greens while you eat.  You will feel magnificent!

Blessings,

Judy

The Rabbits’ Mating Dance

image

It seems that spring is coming early this year.  This morning on our walk, my dog and I had a special gift given to us.  We saw about a dozen rabbits gather in an open field to start their mating dance.  They could jump so high!

A gathering of rabbits in this fashion is a gift that heralds abundance and creativity.  This is a gift from the goddess, Eostre, (other names Ostare, Ostara, Ostern, Eostra, Eostre, Eostur, Eastra, Eastur) who is said to be a goddess of the Teutonic era.  Eostre is said to come to Earth in the spring to provide support for the seeding, mating and birthing time.  Any ventures started during this time will be very successful, and the project, business, or trip, will connect you with people that will help you define what your life mission is for the next five to ten years.

The Rabbits have a blessing for you, that all barriers that block you will be diminished by the heights that you are able to soar, above anything you have dreamed of.

Many blessings,

Judy

New Year’s Eve - Dec 31 2023

 GOOD BYE, 2023!

I hope that you get to party with family or with friends.  I hope that you celebrate all the good things that happened this year.  I hope that you bless the things that did not go according to plan and set them behind you.

I think that we celebrate the ending of each year because we believe the next year will be so much better!  We all hope to find new ways of doing things, lots of abundance, lots of love from new relationships and from existing friends and family.

I wish you a happy New Year’s Eve!

Blessings,

Judy

The Voice of the Spirit of Water

Fast flowing Highwood River - taken by J Hirst

My meditations of late have been quite thought provoking for me.  Different beings come in to talk to me, and to guide me, or, to ask me to share information.

This morning, a being that identified itself as “The Spirit Of Water” asked to come into my space to share some thoughts.  I asked the being how I could help.  It said to pass on this message.

For billions of years, there has been an abundance of water on this planet.  There was always enough water for all manner of animals, fish, fowl, and creepy crawly things to have water for nourishment.  There even has always been enough water for man because hydrogen and oxygen combine to make more, when more is needed.  Although my water has been poisoned in many places, it is still plentiful, and can be cleaned.

Understand that water is healing.  It cleanses out the body.  It feeds the cells and thus the blood.  It pours oxygen into Earth bodies to keep them strong.  It ignites the food to help it break down and provide nourishment.  Next to air, water is the bringer of life.

Now more than ever, in this time of change, all humans need to drink an abundance of water.  It is so available, and yet humans are drinking coffee and sweet juices and carbonated drinks – drinks that are toxic and deplete the oxygen.  Stop drinking so much liquid that is not water.  How can water heal you if you only drink a glass or so a day?  Let water be of service to you and to the world.

Blessings

Canada Goose on Sharing - A Spirit Guide

image

The Canada Goose never used to be seen walking about on the snow because it is a migratory bird. However, in mild climates from California to the Great Lakes, some of the population has become non-migratory due to adequate winter food supply and a lack of former predators. (Source Wikipedia) Ducks have also begun to stay further north as a result of the abundance of food and milder winters.

Goose talks about sharing:

“When more birds stay North, we must learn to get along for the food supply is limited, the amount of open water is limited, and the heat available from the open water sewer releases is limited. We have found a way to keep our territories intact and to respect the space of the other flocks. In this way, we share without battle. No one of us needs to own the space. The space – the water – is ever changing and stays not long in one place.

As part of the sharing, we act as guards and alerts for one another. If one of us is safe, then we are all safe. The side benefit of us staying and sharing the same space is that we keep the waters very clean of seaweed type grasses and weeds. Because we each have a preference for different flavors, we eat different things and sharing becomes easier. We do not need to hoard things we do not need for food.”

Many blessings,

Judy

Horse on Sleeping

image

I was getting ready to leave my meditation after having a Lion come in, when I heard the words, “Wait! Wait!  I have something to say!”

I settled back down on the grass in my favourite spot, and waited, as I had been asked.   A large white horse walked into my space, and settled in.  It was clear that she was a spirit animal.

“I heard your discussion with Lion about sleeping, and I thought that I would like to say something on that topic.”

“Go ahead,” I said.

The white Horse had some good things to say.

  • Make sure that you get all your harness off before you go to sleep.  You will be far more comfortable.
  • It is good to pray before you sleep.  (I piped in that I did not know that horses did prayers.  White Horse informed me that all animals pray.)
  • In nature, horses and all animals must find a safe place to sleep, or, they must have someone stand watch.  It is good to have a secure place to sleep.
  • If you cannot sleep, meditate on the wonderful life that you have.  All of us have abundance and we can meditate on abundance.  I like to think about grass, and how grass becomes hay, and as I meditate on this, I just seem to fall asleep.
  • If you have a guide or several guides (we horses have guides that will lead us to different places), then ask your guide to lead you to that place of sleep, and to stand guard.  This will keep you safe from all things.
  • If sleep doesn’t come, think about Oneness.  Oneness means that we are all part of the same pasture (eco system) and that we must all share and help each other.

I was quite amazed at the variety of ideas that Horse had, and said so.  White Horse got this very shy look on her face and dipped her head, and wandered off.

I came out of my meditation feeling like I had been greatly blessed.

Blessings to you,

Judy

Welcome September 1 2023

image

Fall is one of my favourite times of the year.  For me, it is almost as though the smells change on September 1 and the weather changes at the same time.

I think of September more than March or April as the month of change.  It seems that most of my life, my career changes have happened in the fall, usually, sometime in September or early October.

When I think of September, I think of abundance.  This is the time of pickling, and canning, and freezing all of the produce of the summer.

image

I picture Mother Nature getting all of her charges in the Northern Hemisphere ready for bed.  Winter comes early in Alberta.  Already, there are new skiffs of snow up on the mountains.

The contradiction of autumn is that while we are finishing things off on one hand, it is a time of seeking renewal and many of us start new things – craft clubs, fitness programs, bowling, curling, hockey, and the list goes on.

A resting time!  I see that, often, we use the fall to plan a rest from the activity of summer, and to get ready to vegetate through the coldest of the winter.

image

I see the Elementals, the energy spirits in the park, change their behaviour from wild to more gentle as they prepare the park for winter.

I think that the fall is a time of healing for nature and for humans.  I see us all come closer to that peacefulness of Oneness.  For, all of us are matter, and all of us are of the Earth.

For me, September is a time of contemplating what will happen next.  I love the surprises that it brings.

Blessings,

Judy
