Do Not Settle For One Victory

The poster says:  Take your victories, whatever they may be, cherish them, use them, but don't settle for them. ---- Mia Hamm

**************************************

Have you ever noticed that when you sit and chat with family or friends, that often the topic turns to the successes that a person or people had in the past, and how they mourn them?  They do not ever seem to talk about victories in the present, and there must be some.

So often we look in the mirror of the past that we do not see the present and all the great things that are right before us.  Some of the every day victories that we can celebrate include:

-setting a personal best at an exercise routine that you do whether it is running, walking, weight lifting, pilates, etc.

-walking in nature three out of seven days of the week.  Talk about it.  Celebrate it.

-making it to two out of four games that your child is playing either for school or in a community league.  When you are working, breaking free from work to champion your child is worth celebrating.

-talking to a parent or sibling or good friend who is far away can also be a reason to feel victory when your time is jammed with things that must be done.

-going shopping when you have been getting groceries and other things delivered. Or, the opposite, you now order things to be delivered to free up some time for other things.  A change is reason to feel a personal victory.

The list can go on.  Please add to it by putting in a comment below.  I see people sigh and list all the things they cannot do.  They do not talk about the things that they have accomplished.  Accomplishments are the way to help you live positively.

Blessings,

Judy

Spring Equinox March 20 2026

When Is the First Day of Spring 2026? In 2026, the March equinox happens on March 20 at 10:46 A.M. EDT. This falls on a Friday and is the astronomical beginning of the spring season in the Northern Hemisphere and the autumn season in the Southern Hemisphere.

Celebrate by hosting a meal with friends or with family.  Have a bonfire and offer up tobacco to the heavens and the spirits.  Set intentions.  Let go of the things that hold you back by releasing them to the fire.

Blessings,

Judy

Winter Solstice December 21 2024

Picture of Glenmore Lake Taken December 2024 by Judy Hirst

On this winter solstice, we celebrate that we are still alive and well given the terrible conflicts going on in parts of the world.

We celebrate that we are a place that people run towards, and not away from.

We celebrate our families, our friends, and our communities, for these are the anchors that hold all of us to the fabric of loving kindness and compassion.

We celebrate with food and conversation and song and quiet meditation.

Blessed be.

Blessings,
Judy

Spirit Talks About Rhythm

image

Now is the time to celebrate.  Feel your heartbeat and the rhythm of life.  In movement and flow, everything has cycles and rhythms.  Feel and know your part of this rhythm through to the core of your being.  Get in touch with your inner self.

Do no let disharmony interrupt your rhythm and flow, bud dance your dance and sing your song with joy, and others will be infected with the delight of it.

– Treasures from Tikashi

As we move through the changes of time and space, find a place in your heart that is filled with joy.  Let this be one of your sanctuaries.  When you feel down or out, go to this place, to your reserve of joy, and let all things flow.

Blessings,

Judy

Good Advice In These Quotes

image

Picture is of the fall colours from the Banff Summit

"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around."  -Leo F. Buscagilia

"Never tell a young person that anything cannot be done. God may have been waiting centuries for someone ignorant enough of the impossible to do that very thing."   -G. M. Trevelyan

I found these two quotes and felt that I needed to share them today, to remind everyone that what we feel guided to do is often what Creator needs us to do.  And, when we interfere with someone’s path because of our own limitations – saying that it can’t be done  -  we have no idea of the repercussions of our actions.

Be at peace and celebrate everything!

Many blessings,

Judy

Happy July 4th, 2024

image

Happy 4th of July 2024 to all the folks in the United States.

What a wonderful day to celebrate all the good things around us.

I wish each of you a day of celebration so that you are at peace with yourself, your family, and the rest of the world.

I wish you each a time of forgiveness so that you may let go of what you are holding on to, and that you may move forward without regrets.

This is my blessing for you.

New Year’s Eve - Dec 31 2023

 GOOD BYE, 2023!

I hope that you get to party with family or with friends.  I hope that you celebrate all the good things that happened this year.  I hope that you bless the things that did not go according to plan and set them behind you.

I think that we celebrate the ending of each year because we believe the next year will be so much better!  We all hope to find new ways of doing things, lots of abundance, lots of love from new relationships and from existing friends and family.

I wish you a happy New Year’s Eve!

Blessings,

Judy
