Humour and Love

image

In my meditation this morning, the two words of the day are LOVE and HUMOUR.  At first, I had a difficult time putting the two thoughts together.  I don’t normally think of Love as funny.  Yet, on reflection, I realize that my three days with my sister and her family were filled with lots of love and much laughter (humour), because we found everything funny.  We were together and we felt that hint of invincibility that comes from being one family.

I then thought back to the the last group meditation that we did several months ago and realized that the same feeling was there – Humour and Love  -  because we all enjoyed one another so much and we had the same, off beat, view of life.  We talked and laughed and shared.

I bow to Creator/Great Spirit for once again being able to teach a wonderful lesson to me through the use of two words.

This was a very healing lesson.

Judy

What Do You Do With Your Days?

“Every day that we wake up is a good day. Every breath that we take is filled with hope for a better day. Every word that we speak is a chance to change what is bad into something good.”
Walter Mosley

“Every day is different, and some days are better than others, but no matter how challenging the day, I get up and live it.”
Muhammad Ali

Your imagination is your preview of life's coming attractions. --Albert Einstein

We have our days generally planned out for the week.  We want to make our days matter and we want to make sure that certain tasks get done.  Since we love the mountains, we go as often as we can because the mountains inspire us, heal us, and show us animals and trees and birds in new ways.

Each of us gets to choose how we spend our time.  How are you choosing to spend your day?

You Are A Guest!

image

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
                                      —Rumi

Last night, I could not sleep!  I would close my eyes and get different thoughts and visions.  All of them were filled with information and insights.  The vision that stayed with me though, because it was so profound, was one that I call – You Are A Guest.

In this vision or dream, a beautiful lady is sitting across from me in a setting similar to a living room.  She is in a big chair and I am on a sofa, and a coffee table – round and about three feet across – sits between us.

She is telling me that she is disappointed in me.  She asked me to look after her house, and she comes home to find that it is completely messy.  She tells me that there are holes in the carpet, burn marks on the furniture and the floors, and that her water is not running full force.

I am stunned!  I have no recollection of house sitting.  I don’t believe that I have met her before, although she is lovely, and I don’t recognize the house.

She asks me if I would allow guests to behave like that in my home.  I reply that we don’t allow smoking in our house, and that none of our guests would behave like that anyway.

She then asks me why I have not cleaned up before she returned home.

I am sputtering for an answer when she says, “Never mind! I won’t ask you to do this again!”

Now I am really confused because I don’t remember her asking me in the first place.

I decide that I must defend myself.  I begin saying that I have not been asked to look after her house, and then the scene changes.

She takes me by the hand and walks me through charred forests and meadows.  She then walks me through deserts and drought land.  I see animals and people starving, dying, and dead.  We then move to places where water flows over the land, down streets and through houses.  And, we walk over mountain tops where the snow caps are clearly receding, based on the marks of where snow lay earlier.  The next stop is different places where open pit mining is happening – huge great holes in the earth.

The scene changes again, and I am back in the living room, sitting in a big, comfy chair, with a hot cup of tea in my hand.

The lady tells me that humans have been thoughtless guests in her home – the planet.  She asks me what she should do.  I tell her that most often, the landlord evicts abusive tenants.  They seldom get a second chance.

She smiles and says that she has served her eviction notice.

I wake up, and wonder what is next for all of us.

Many blessings,

Judy

Don’t Lose Hope

I have friends that go through some major events and seem to give up hope.  How do I know?  When they would talk about life going forward, they would talk about how hope-less everything was.  They saw their world as bleak and unfriendly.

Being without hope puts a person out of balance, physically and mentally.  It is our nature to have hope, to be happy and even joyful.  It is our soul’s purpose to keep us on the path of hope for everything that we set out to do.

Why You Need To Be Kind

We are all seeing a lot more stories being written about the kindness that people show to other people and to animals, especially ocean based animals.  Stories are being written about how being kind is the best way to get into heaven.  This means that kindness is the same as being good.

The best reason for being kind is that it is good for your soul!  Anytime that we do an act of kindness, and that we are selfless, our soul sings!  We feel better.  An act of kindness can pull us out of despondency or even depression.  Perhaps being kind should be a medical prescription that is handed out.   When we act kindly, it means that we are moving our energy to a new frequency.  The more that we do that, the better that we feel and the healthier that we are.  Being kind helps us find balance and return to a natural way of being.  Being kind is easier too, if you spend lots of time outdoors in Nature.

Kindness is learned by seeing examples.  I believe that it is also instinctual in us because you see very young children being kind to other children.  Meanness, bullying, and fighting behaviour can be learned. Many folks do learn how to get past this behaviour.

Being kind does take time.  Perhaps you need to take some kindness time.

See the short listing of other posts on kindness.

Blessings,
Judy

Change and Growth In Your Life

Have you ever gotten a vehicle stuck in the snow or in the mud?  Do you remember how difficult it was to get out of being stuck, especially if you had to do it all by yourself?  Do you remember that often, you could not get un-stuck without calling for help from a tow truck driver or from others near by?

To change the stuck in the snow situation, we had to change the thought that we could get un-stuck with no help.  Realizing that we were wrong and accepting that we were wrong is a big change.  It is also a metaphor for life where we have to move along and take responsibility for needing to change.

Too often, folks get stuck in a rut… a situation that is not healthy for them or for those around them.  Instead of making up their mind to change and grow, they instead play the victim and blame everyone and everything in their life for how stuck they are.

Very early in my spiritual journey, several of my teachers explained that each road block or stuck situation in my life was a chance to learn and to change.  Making that shift in my approach to life was a challenge because I was not raised that way.  Each time that I was feeling stuck, I had to learn to step back and to look at the lesson that the situation presented.  I learned so much!

I learned about setting boundaries, and about saying NO.  I learned about changing or releasing expectations.  I learned that people are exactly who they appear to be and not to have expectations about their behaviour.  I let relationships go.  I learned that when there are not any blocks to what I was doing, I was in the flow.  I was in balance. I learned to let people leave my life when they were trying to manipulate me, boss me around, or take advantage of me.  I learned over time how to be me.

Blessings,
Judy

Releasing Expectations

Somewhere along the evolution of humans, we changed from “allowing ourselves to be in the flow of life” to “trying to control our life and the lives of those around us”.  Wow!

We are so busy trying to be what we think everyone is telling us that we shall be that we lose sight of the wonderful process of self discovery and the joy of finding little miracles and synchronicities each day.

Yes, we need to do some planning.  We need to have shelter and food and some kind of routine.  It seems, however, that we get so caught up in goal setting, achieving success, and being at the top, that we become egocentric or self-absorbed and sometimes ruthless.

The proof of this is that many people that appear to have achieved the greatest successes in their field often just drop out of the profession or career, and go and do something that makes them happy.  They drop out to move more simply in life, to enjoy balance, nature, joy, and self actualization.  These folks create a new life that is very different than their old life and more like our ancestors who moved in the flow.

Yes, we can have expectations.  The thing is that we need to have realistic expectations and not get caught up in the drama of achievement and the struggles that we create by not looking at different ways to get to the place that we want to go.

Strokes, ulcers, heart attacks, and debilitating illnesses seem to be the road blocks that pop up to show folks that the person is on the wrong track of life.

What do you think?

Blessings,
Judy

Loved Ones Appear In A Dream

Picture from an email from a friend..information on the poster.

As a dreamer, I marvel at the number of times that someone that I love and that has now died, appears in a dream.  Most often, the person appears much younger than the age that they crossed from this world to the next.  They seem to be happy and participate in what ever activity that you are engaged in.

Many writings talk about deceased loved ones appearing in your dreams to give you a warning and to touch base with you.  My experience is that often a loved one or a version of the loved one, will pop in to act as temporary guide to help solve a problem or to point you towards the solution for a situation.

I think that often we assume that only people will appear in dreams.  However, many animals that we have loved will also appear in dreams.  I find, for me, that they will often appear in dreams where I am out walking in trees or out in Nature, generally.  I think as much as showing us that they are okay, the animal is also checking on us to see if we are in balance, moving forward, and well and happy.

Many blessings,
Judy

Symbols and Images In Dreams and Meditation

The interesting thing that has been happening for me over the last ten years is that I am coming to understand that symbols have much more meaning and power than I was aware of, up to this moment.

When I am dreaming, I see symbols, sometimes as colourful as the one in the above picture.  Sometimes, instead of words, there are flashes of images (pictures) that tell a story.  To show you what I mean, take a look at the two pictures below.

image

image

The literal meaning of the two pictures together is “rock star”.  Now, for most of us, the image that pops to mind is one of the great rock stars like John Lennon, or Rod Stewart, or Bono, and so on.  What Spirit is saying with this set of images, in my vision, is that rocks are the predecessors of stars.  I don’t know if there is a scientific explanation.  Perhaps when planets explode, the rocks are flung out and eventually converge together to create something new.

Why is Spirit using symbols and pictures?  I think it is because my mind, like most of your minds, is keyed to have a meaning of a word.  When we hear the word, then our mind wants to take over and forces us in the direction of language, rather than in the direction of the message.

When we see the symbols, then our memory can go back to different life times to pull up the story that we need to remember.   These stories give us a reference point for doing, or not doing, certain actions.

What I know now is that I need to watch for the same symbols over and over.  One of my friends says that she gets lots of repetitions of the number 8 when she is on the easiest path.  Another friend says that she sees feathers when she is feeling blue, and then she knows that her angels are with her.

My symbols are one thing becoming another.  I know this means that I am transforming.

I think that all of us are.

Blessings,

Judy

Brown Rabbit - Spirit Animal

image

A couple of evenings ago, a small brown bunny ran across the street, just in front of our car.  As it ran past, the bunny turned and looked at us.  I could see that it did not look scared.  Instead, it looked like it was all business, and that it had a message.

As though someone was zinging arrows to a target, the following thoughts popped into my mind from Brown Rabbit.

  • Taking a risk is okay if you don’t do it too often.
  • Running for your life is a good way to keep fit.  Do not make a habit of it.
  • Even though there is lots of room on this planet, too often life converges where two beings or objects or oppositions, must simply collide with one another.  This is perfect!
  • Life can be as short or as long, as you care for it.
  • Abundance is in the eyes of the beholder while truly, abundance is all around us.

Blessings,
Judy

Alone Means “All One”

 image

Till now I always got by on my own
I never really cared until I met you
And now it chills me to the bone

Karma Files - Resistance to Visiting a Medicine Wheel

image

Several people have asked me for examples of how clearing karma in this life time works.  I am sharing a story about the experience that I had eleven years ago when my husband and I were going to experience a medicine wheel.

Years ago, we visited the Sun Dial Medicine Wheel and I was grateful that I knew how to clear karma.  You see, I was quite resistant to going to the medicine wheel, and I did not know why.  I just knew that something dreadful would happen.

I let this emotion build and build and I talked myself out of going several times.  Finally, common sense kicked in and I realized that there must be some reason for the reluctance to go to the medicine wheel.

I sat in meditation one night, and asked why I had this issue.  I heard that I needed to clear Karma using the guidance of the Angels of Karma.  I have a great meditation for this purpose and I sat in meditation.

The first story that needed clearing was that several thousand years ago, I was a Medicine Man working with my tribe at the medicine wheel.  At the end of our ceremony, the sky went dark for three days because of an eclipse.  At that time, the Earth turned more slowly.  My tribe believed that I had stopped the Sun.  They thought that no one should have that power, and they killed me.  Coincidently, the Sun returned after they killed me, and the People believed that they had done the right thing.

There were several more stories that were similar in that I died near or because of the medicine wheel.

When I cleared the energy of imbalance around these stories, my body relaxed and I was able to travel to the wheel, and to enjoy.

Many blessings,

Judy

Take Time To Contemplate

The word “contemplate” means:

  1. (v. t.) To consider or have in view, as contingent or probable; to look forward to; to purpose; to intend.
  2. (v. i.) To consider or think studiously; to ponder; to reflect; to muse; to meditate.
  3. (v. t.) To look at on all sides or in all its bearings; to view or consider with continued attention; to regard with deliberate care; to meditate on; to study.

I was surprised when this was the word that the Angels gave to me to work with today.  For me, contemplation is what I do all the time when I am thinking about a problem, a writing issue, or a “how to” problem.  In fact, I think most people contemplate all the time.

The Angels laughed at me when I expressed this idea.  Their idea of contemplation is tied in with meditation, and thinking about God or Great Spirit, and wondering how to live one’s life more gently.  I have mentioned before that the First Law Of The Universe is “Harm No One”.  This is a tough one for humans to follow, especially those in religions that believe in annihilating all the non-believers.  Our training has been to be competitive and to believe in the survival of the fittest – Darwin’s theory.  We think that we must beat others down.

The Angels are working with us to help us see that we are all needed to be part of life, and that we can grow to understand this idea through contemplation (or meditation).  The Angels work with individuals and with groups to have the idea of force and fighting removed from the consciousness.

When we contemplate, we are in the present moment, and we will not need to resort to force to achieve an end.

May you have a wonderfully contemplative day!

Judy

Trust Your Inner Voice

image

 (¯`♥´¯) .♥.•*¨`*♫.•
´*.¸.•´♥ “Your mind knows only some things. Your inner voice, your instinct, knows everything. If you listen to what you know instinctively, it will always lead you down the right path.”
~ Henry Winkler

Last week, I was able to spend some time with a very good friend.  We talked about how sometimes your mind conflicts with what your gut or instinct tells you is the right way.  I believe our gut instinct knows inherently what is right and not right for each individual.

I also believe that our inner voice is connected to the wider Universe and therefore is quite different then our ego… the ego that wants you to say “look at me” or to thrust you into competition.

Let ego go.

The Attitude of Hope

image

“Hope is not a question of personal philosophy. In the face of uncertainty, operating from a stance of hope is a strategic and practical response. It is a way of approaching the world. As environmental writer Professor David Orr said of it, “Hope is a verb with its sleeves rolled up.”” ~~ Paul Gilding

The Angels say that HOPE is what keeps people moving forward.  They see it all the time.  When people are in dire circumstances, it is hope that allows these people to persevere and to get out of tough situations.

Hope, say the Angels, is not a gene.  You are not born with it.  It is something that you learn, or find.  It is strength of spirit.  Some say it is strength of will.  It might even be an attitude.   As Angels do not have will – they do not need it – and they do not require hope, Angels find the evolution of  mankind’s hope to be one of the most interesting emotions that developed over time.

Although many writers over time have attributed hope to religious faith, the Angels say that there is not any correlation between religion and hope.  Individuals who have never heard of many of the religions will exhibit hope.  And, add the Angels, they are starting to see hope in many animals.

Hope is anticipation that the current situation will change and will be better for the person who is feeling hope.  The Angels agree that “when there is a will, there is a way!”  It seems that a strong call to action is another trait of people that feel hope.  The Angels have wondered if it is the movement or action that inspires hope.  Or, is it that hope causes action?  They are not really all that clear on which comes first.

What are your thoughts?

Many Blessings,

Judy

Honey Bee - Spirit Animal

image

Summer, and the flowers bloom on the trees and in the gardens.  The flowers on fruit trees require pollination. The Bee is busy at work.

Bee stopped what it was doing the other day at the park, and flew over to me.  I held out my hand, and it landed gently on my palm.  Bee had a few things to say.

  • There will always be queen bees, drones, and worker bees.  The trick is to be happy with what you are given, and not to yearn for something else.  Queen bees do not leave the hive.  Drones die very young.  Worker bees have jobs to do, and still have the freedom to travel where ever they wish to go.  They get to taste the raw sweetness (nectar) of life.
  • Bees have always been in service to the natural world.  In doing the work of the hive, they work for Mother Nature (Creator) and, through this, find ways to be in service to mankind.  This is the ultimate way to grow spiritually -  to “bee” in service to all parts of the Earth.
  • Bees are peace-loving, despite our reputation as aggressive that comes from our Africanized bee cousins.  If you do not threaten the hive, you will be left alone.  We wish that mankind understood the idea of “leaving alone” much better than their actions are showing.  Now, it seems whatever mankind sees, he wants to disturb by redesigning, moving, digging, or covering up.
  • A hive has a natural order of interconnectedness.  This type of communication did exist between animals and mankind.  Perhaps it will come back before mankind totally disappears.

Then Bee buzzed off.

Many Blessings,

Judy

About Marmot

image

One of the reasons that I love going to the mountains is to see the animals, especially the marmot.

Marmot’s make a high pitched whistle to alert their family that an intruder is in the area.  Dogs counted as intruders!  Humans, on the other hand, were seen as a great source of food.

I think our Ancestors must have seen these little guys as miniature beavers.  They must have been surprised to have these furry little mountain ambassadors come to the camps to check out the food supply.  Marmots are very curious!

We noticed that Marmot acted like a gardener for Mother Nature.  They dug tunnels and brought up fresh soil that enriched the top soil which looked depleted from heavy snow falls and lush vegetation.  Marmot moved rocks around, and picked up small pieces of paper, stashing them we know not where – caretaking the park site.

For me, Marmot is an example of Oneness working.  She looks after the environment around here in harmony with the mountains, trees, vegetation, other animals, and, yes, people.  She is cheerful and funny.  She provides a sense of the elemental relationship of interdependent ecosystems.  She forgives us our humanness.  She remains with the mountain after we leave.

Judy

When You Slip In The Mud

Picture from an email from a friend

Slipping in the mud is common, especially after heavy rains.    Does it have any meaning?  Yes, it does!

The blending of water (emotions) with the earth (materiality) is the physical manifestation of transition from one place to a next.  If you have ever fallen into mud, you know that you must wash it off.  You then go from dirty to clean, which shows the next step in the process – transformation.

We have been taught through science that all life was born out of the oceans washing up to the shore and creating mud.  Life literally crawled out of the mud to get to dry land.  This means that mud may also symbolize birthing.  If you fall in the mud, and get up, is it because you have this great idea that requires birthing?

People who are ungrounded, or flighty, will often have a “muddy” experience to remind the to get grounded.  The first warning of the need to be grounded is usually spilling water on the ground, and the formation of mud at one’s feet.

What if you are out hiking and you get stuck in the mud?  This may be a physical reflection of being stuck in one area of your life – perhaps job, career, family, or even feeling stuck about what direction your life generally should go.  A clue about direction can usually be found in the geographic area that your mudslide occurred in.

Let’s talk about mud slide.  The last several years there have been an extraordinary number (by my standards) of mudslides around the world.   Just as falling in mud or slipping in mud represents an issue for an individual, the mudslide represents an issue for a wider population.  Some of the issues:

  • stuck in the old way of doing things – now is the time to let go.
  • what you are doing and saying has no grounds – so the ground is swept away from you.
  • so you think that you are morally or economically higher or better than others – let’s change that thought right now and sweep everything you have away from you.
  • you think that you are beyond the basics – well, if your shelter and food are gone than you move right back to basics.  Maybe you can do it better this time!

Mud has a lot of lessons to teach.  Perhaps you will watch who plays in the mud, and who doesn’t with more interest.

Many blessings,

Judy

Eagle Says Remember!

image

I was having really strange dreams!  One that I remember occurred and  I could not focus in on the message in the dream, and everything felt slightly wrong.

Then, my dream scape shifted.  I was walking with my sister.  I looked up, and there was this large Eagle sitting in a tree slightly ahead of us, and up on a branch.  She looked at me and said, “Remember!”

I remembered that Eagle is about seeing the bigger picture.  She is about looking at beginnings and endings.  I know too that she is about riding the currents and finding a way to stay aloft without doing much work.

At that moment, she jumped off the branch, and caught a current and soared up into the air.  Then she dived down towards me.  I stuck out my arm in case she wanted to land on it.  Instead, just above my arm, she swooped back up into the air.

She went so high that I thought she might disappear.  Then, she came floating down, as the wind caught her wings.  It made me remember that we do not need to be in control of things.  We can let them happen, in the easiest manner possible.

I woke up with a lighter heart.

Judy

It is About Singing Your Song

image

The other day, while shopping, I heard a three year old singing the most delightful little song.  Her mother quietened her by saying, “No one wants to hear you sing!”  The little girl was crushed!  Then, the two were lost in the crowd.

Years ago when I had a consulting business, I had an unconscious habit of humming while I worked.  The consultants and staff would ask me to stop because they could not concentrate.  Fair enough!  I stopped humming.  Now, I only hum and sing if I am completely by myself.

I wonder how many of us have lost our voice along our journey because others hushed us.  The strange thing is that music and song are made to be shared.

I hope that you sing and hum, and add a little dance to your music!  I will listen.

Many blessings,

Judy

The Story of Otter Saving The Animals

One of my young friends loves otters!  She identifies with their swimming, their playfulness, and their resourcefulness.

She wanted to know an old story of the otters.  The following Cree legend is for her.

*****

image

As the story is told, in the days when the earth was new and there were no men but only animals, the sun was far away in the sky. It was so far away that there was no summer. It was so far away that the trees and the grasses did not grow as they should.

He-Who-Made-the-Animals saw how it was that there was not enough sun to heat the earth, and so he fashioned a snare. The Sun did not see the snare in his path, walked into the snare, and the snare held him fast.

Then the sun was close to the earth. In fact, the snare held the sun so close to the earth that there was no night. Day after day the sun shown and the earth dried and the grasses withered. There was not enough food or water for the animals and they desperately called a council.

"Sun," the animals said, "You give too much heat to the earth."

"Set me free from this snare" the Sun said, "and I will go away."

"But if you go away, then there will not be enough heat."

"Set me free," the Sun said, "and I will come to the edge of the earth in the morning and in the evening; then at noon-time I will stand straight above the earth and warm it then."

The animals sat around the council fire and they said, "Who is going to set the sun free?"

"I shall not do it," Wildcat said. "Whoever sets the sun free must go so close to the sun that he will be burned to death."

Lynx said, "Whoever sets the sun free must chew the leather thong that holds him; the sun will burn him to death before he can do it."

"I shall not do it," said the deer, the wolf and the raccoon.

"I shall do it," Otter said. "How can you do it?" said the animals. "You are too small, your teeth are for fish, and your fur has already burned away." None of the other animals liked the otter because he played too much. They did not think he was brave.

"Let him try," Bear said. "He will burn to death, but we will not miss him. He is of no use to us. He looks silly now that his fur is gone." The animals laughed.

Ignoring the taunts, the otter set off to the place in the sky above the earth where the sun was held by the snare. Otter took many days to get to the sun. The sun burned him. The sun was so bright, Otter had to close his eyes. When he reached the sun, Otter began to chew on the leather thong that held the sun. His skin was burning and blistering, his eyes were hot stones. But Otter did not stop chewing.

Suddenly he chewed through the leather. The animals saw the sun rise into the sky. The animals felt the cool winds begin to blow on the earth. Otter had freed the sun from the snare.
Time passed. Otter lay in the center of the council ring. There was no fur at all left on his body. His skin was burned and scorched and his flesh was falling off his bones. His teeth were only blackened stumps.

He-Who-Made-the-Animals also stood in the center of the council ring. "Otter," he said, "the animals will not forget what you have done for them. I will see that they do not forget," and he gave Otter new strong teeth, tireless muscles, keen eyesight, and a powerful tail to help him in his hunting and in his play. He did not have to give him bravery. But he gave him new fine fur that was like down on his skin, and a second coat of fur to guard the first so that he would not get cold in water or in winter. Then he gave him joy so that he would always be happy in his otter's life, and Otter has so remained until this day.

Thunder and Rain

image

We are the Angels that look after the rain.  We like to announce the rain with the sound of thunder because it so much like the sound of big drums!  Rain is for washing and cleaning the air and the earth.  Animals that do not like to swim love their showers from the rain.

Rain is a way to bring oxygen and light to Earth.  The more rain, the more light, as contradictory as that sounds.  Bringing light to Earth is a matter of physics – H2O – two hydrogen and one oxygen bring down a little light.

Rain causes people to be alone with their thoughts; to be self assessing.  This is perhaps why so many people feel that rain causes depression.  It is not the rain; it is one’s thoughts!  If your thoughts, your life, and your world are clean, then you will enjoy the rain because it brings in new life.

Rain is for crops and gardens, for flowers and trees, for meadows and for creeks, for sleeping and for meditation.  It is the moisture that keeps the sparkle in all of life.

Enjoy the rain!

Be Authentic

image

“The most authentic thing about us is our capacity to create, to overcome, to endure, to transform, to love and to be greater than our suffering.” – Ben Okri

Sometimes I get messages or sound bites that I have a difficult time deciphering.  One of these sound bites was “stand in your authenticity”.

My first thought was, “Could you be more obscure?”

I thought about it, and then just left the idea and went on to think about something else.  You know how it is though, the harder that you try NOT to think of something, the more you think about it.

So, I went and looked up the word “authentic”.  The definitions are:

adjective

  1. Of undisputed origin; genuine
    • - the letter is now accepted as an authentic document
    • authentic 14th-century furniture
  2. Made or done in the traditional or original way, or in a way that faithfully resembles an original
    • - the restaurant serves authentic Italian meals
    • - every detail of the movie was totally authentic
  3. Based on facts; accurate or reliable
    • - an authentic depiction of the situation
  4. (in existentialist philosophy) Relating to or denoting an emotionally appropriate, significant, purposive, and responsible mode of human life
    • (of a church mode) Comprising the notes lying between the principal note or final and the note an octave higher

Well this cleared things up! Not!  Was I supposed to be looking at genuine or traditional?  Was I supposed to be accurate or reliable?  To me, these are two different states.  Was I supposed to change?  How can one be in healing mode and be in between what is real and what is not?  I had more questions.

I sat in meditation.  I sat and thought the word authenticity.  I said a prayer.  I called on Creator/Great Spirit to help me understand how authenticity will help me be in service.

Then I felt a shift around me.  I had this knowing that I was to be genuine in my beliefs because that way I had no need of ego.  Ego is only required when one is not sure of the ground around them.  I felt good!  And, this will be easy to do.

    Many blessings,

    Feel the Silence

    image

God is the friend of silence. See how nature... trees, flowers, grass... grows in silence. See the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence. We need silence to be able to touch souls.

    Mother Teresa

There seems to be an extreme push from the heavens, for all of us to be in silence.  Creator seems to be looking to have us experience Oneness.  Whether we do this through silent observation, prayer, or meditation, the result will be an expansion of consciousness or awareness, of all that is around us.

    Try it!

    Blessings,

    Life is Filled With Storms

A funny thing… I was talking to my friend who lives several provinces away.  She was saying that I have not been to her house to visit since she moved several years ago.  We have seen each other, however, as we would meet up when I was in a city close to her.  I said that it was my plan to get to see her this summer.  I just did not know when.

Three and half hours later, I received a phone call that a dear friend had died.  Yes, she had lived a long life but the death still hurt.  It was a storm of emotion that clouded my evening and night.

The next morning, I realized that I could plan going to the funeral so that I would have time to drive out to see my friend’s house.  And, I made plans accordingly.  My path was complicated but cleared.

I am filled with gratitude to the Universe for providing a balanced plan for me for the week or so ahead.

    Blessings,
    Judy

    Living in Balance

One of the hardest things about living is that with all the good and enjoying life, every once in a while, we come face to face with death.  Death of a loved one, other family member, or friend.  For all the living that we did with them, now the time has come where life is no longer.

Most of us push back at the unfairness and bad timing that we feel when a person close to us dies.  We have to make arrangements to go to the funeral.  We may have to make travel arrangements.  We may have to leave our home which is our safe place or sanctuary.

Death seems disruptive and blows up the balance that we have been living in.  Yet Death is part of Nature.  It brings peace to those moving on.  If the person was ill and suffering before death, then Death brings some peace to the family.

This week is about changes and with Death comes many changes.  May you all find ways to deal with the imbalance.

    Blessings,

    Judy

    Beaver Traits

Beavers have been around for a very long time.  We see them from time to time at dusk in the Bow River.  I find them fascinating because they are caretakers of the Earth and water managers.

    image

Beaver was sitting across the channel, on the bank, looking for some tender young trees and, keeping an eye on the dogs and on me.  Beaver has been in this channel for about four years.  She has created several good dams, and she has helped change the eco system of the channel and the river.  The channel now has young trout in it.

Beaver has some traits that humans can use.  They are:

    • when you see water that is stagnant and mucky, find a way to clean it up.  You may have to get dirty to do it; it will be worth it.
    • being industrious leads you to discover new ways of doing things.  So, be busy when it is required – as when you need to fix your den, the dam, or gather food for winter.  When you are not busy, play and socialize.
    • when somebody says that “it can’t be done”, go ahead and do it anyway.  See the picture below of the world’s biggest beaver dam.

    • understand that there is a shortage of fresh water.  Beavers know how to maximize fresh water and aerate it to create a healthy environment for fish and wildlife.
