Keep Shining

                                            Picture from e-buddhism.com

Have you noticed that some people just seem to think that it is their right to judge and convict others for attitudes, actions, or beliefs that do not align with the one that is judging beliefs?

I am amazed when I watch videos of different animal species like a cat and a bear, becoming friends for years.  An amazing video showed the friendship between a sea lion and a dog.  I am sure that you have seen other videos like the friendship between a bear, a tiger, and a lion.  The animals are all different and still accept the other animal with all of its personality and actions.

Why do people react so differently to others?  Yes, there are exceptions where two different individuals will become friends but those seem to be less frequent.

I believe that when we shine our light, our goodness, our kindness, and our personality, that we intimidate others.  The others make up judgements, sometimes lies, and spread rumours about us to make themselves feel bigger/better.

By continuing to be ourselves and ignoring the issues that the other people have, we become our best selves.  Our light shines.

Many blessings,
Judy

The Attitude of Hope

image

“Hope is not a question of personal philosophy. In the face of uncertainty, operating from a stance of hope is a strategic and practical response. It is a way of approaching the world. As environmental writer Professor David Orr said of it, “Hope is a verb with its sleeves rolled up.”” ~~ Paul Gilding

The Angels say that HOPE is what keeps people moving forward.  They see it all the time.  When people are in dire circumstances, it is hope that allows these people to persevere and to get out of tough situations.

Hope, say the Angels, is not a gene.  You are not born with it.  It is something that you learn, or find.  It is strength of spirit.  Some say it is strength of will.  It might even be an attitude.   As Angels do not have will – they do not need it – and they do not require hope, Angels find the evolution of  mankind’s hope to be one of the most interesting emotions that developed over time.

Although many writers over time have attributed hope to religious faith, the Angels say that there is not any correlation between religion and hope.  Individuals who have never heard of many of the religions will exhibit hope.  And, add the Angels, they are starting to see hope in many animals.

Hope is anticipation that the current situation will change and will be better for the person who is feeling hope.  The Angels agree that “when there is a will, there is a way!”  It seems that a strong call to action is another trait of people that feel hope.  The Angels have wondered if it is the movement or action that inspires hope.  Or, is it that hope causes action?  They are not really all that clear on which comes first.

What are your thoughts?

Many Blessings,

Judy

Like Yourself!

In the Oneness of all things, we are all loved and liked.  It is only in the human world that we get attached to whether people like us or dislike us.  Where does that come from?  Usually, it comes from the expectations that our parents set for us around whether we are “good” or “bad” and whether our parents like us or not.  That expectation of being liked is transferred to our new friends outside of the family, and then to school, and so on.

What I have learned is that no one will like me if I do not like myself.  If I am constantly harping on what I see as deficiencies in myself, others will pick up on that energy, and they will mirror my feelings.  I will feel lambasted by my shortcomings.

Know that you and I are perfect.  What we see as imperfections are in fact things that we use to help us learn and grow.  We actually are moving through time and space as we learn to love ourselves.  One of the tools that I use to help me grow and to move through the self questioning and self criticism is the Ho’ponopono meditation.

This beautiful meditation allows you to forgive yourself and others, and to move past the behaviour that is slowing you down.

May you find yourself beautiful!  May you become your best friend!

Attitude and Gratitude

 IMGP0082

There once was a woman who woke up one morning,
looked in the mirror,
and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.
Well," she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today?"
So she did and she had wonderful day.

IMGP0084
The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror
and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.
"H-M-M," she said,
"I think I'll part my hair down the middle today?"
So she did and she had a grand day.

IMGP0094

The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head.
"Well," she said,
"today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail."
So she did and she had a fun, fun day.

IMGP0098

The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head.
"YEA!" she exclaimed,
"I don't have to fix my hair today!"

Attitude is everything.

Be kinder than necessary,

for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
Live simply,

Love generously,
Care deeply,
Speak kindly.......

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...

It's about learning to dance in the rain.

This piece is from my friend Monique who knows that I love a story about seeing things in a different way!  Thanks! The pictures are ones that I took on a garden tour.  Enjoy!

Peace,

Judy
