A Message From Archangel Azrael

The following message was a download that I received several years ago and that I recorded in my journal.  This seems like a great time to share it with you.

Dearest ones, when I see where you all are walking, the path looks filled with gravel and small rocks.  This is a time of moving from one thing to the next.  As you all describe your life journey as a path, it seems reasonable to see this time as a gravel path that crosses a large plateau. Depending where you are on the plateau, it may seem that the crossing is longer for some than for others.  There is little to break the journey.  If you have ever travelled a gravel road in a car, you will know that you are not able to go too fast, for you might catch the ridge of gravel and go into the ditch.  Also, if you go too fast, you may create a dust storm that swirls around you, and blinds you, and clogs up your car.

This gravel path that you are on is one that you must travel slowly.  There are some very large stones in the way that you must either walk around, or move off the road so that this path may be traveled more easily next time.  Often, under each stone, or in some cases, boulder, you will find treasure.  Oh, not the treasure of the Aztecs gold, or anything like that! The treasure is the gift of the action, and the situation around it.  

For some of you, the chunks of gravel may be inaction – a lull in all that you are doing.  This may be frustrating, however, it is necessary for you to sit and absorb the new vibrations that are coming into your etheric templates, and then the vibrations will become part of your bodies. There are some of you that will not be able to hold the vibration and ground it.  The vibration will call you home and I will be there to help you with the change in being, and delight in walking you to your new path.  

The creation of new things is about closing the old and allowing for the new.  Now is the time to allow.  This means sitting quietly each day, and being content – think of nothing but those small pleasures that relax your body and mind, and feed your soul. Even reading is an activity that will move you along the path to new things.

I am often called “The beginning and ending” angel because I help the transition from your mortal body.  Beginnings and endings are really all part of the symphony, and I am the conductor.  Do you often hear music?  This may be the songs or the music that I and the other Angels play for you to help you smooth out the patterns and rhythms in your life.  Take time to make music, to learn and to create.  This is the reason for the gravel path; it is to slow you down.

Walking In The Light

I had an interesting experience where a client asked me - “What does it mean to walk in the light?”  I wasn’t sure how to answer the question because walking in the light is an individual experience.  As always, my guides helped me out by referring me to a picture of my husband walking in the light.

I took this amazing picture of my husband when we were in Sedona quite a few years ago.  We are across the saddle from Kachina Woman.  He had climbed up an out cropping of rocks to get some better pictures.  When I looked back at him, he seemed to be covered in an explosion of light.  

You can see the rays of light come around the top of the rock and make an arc, as though a cone of light has been set over him.  There is a very bright orb in the foreground, with green reflection off of it.  If you look at the picture closely, you can see amazing hues of purple and blue against the rock.

I asked him if he could feel any energy up there.  He said that it was simply peaceful.  (For camera enthusiasts, I simply used my cell phone camera.). I think that that is the best explanation of walking in the light… it is the ability to be absolutely peaceful and calm in everything that you do.

Eagle Says Remember!

I was having really strange dreams!  One that I remember occurred and  I could not focus in on the message in the dream, and everything felt slightly wrong.  

Then, my dream scape shifted.  I was walking with my sister.  I looked up, and there was this large Eagle sitting in a tree slightly ahead of us, and up on a branch.  She looked at me and said, “Remember!”  

I remembered that Eagle is about seeing the bigger picture.  She is about looking at beginnings and endings.  I know too that she is about riding the currents and finding a way to stay aloft without doing much work. 

At that moment, she jumped off the branch, and caught a current and soared up into the air.  Then she dived down towards me.  I stuck out my arm in case she wanted to land on it.  Instead, just above my arm, she swooped back up into the air.

She went so high that I thought she might disappear.  Then, she came floating down, as the wind caught her wings.  It made me remember that we do not need to be in control of things.  We can let them happen, in the easiest manner possible.

I woke up with a lighter heart.

Walking and walking

 Yesterday, my good friend and I walked and walked and walked.  It was cathartic!  The weather was just right… before it got too hot.  We were walking in a park and met lots of people also out walking, and we saw and met lots of dogs with their dog “parents”.  That was fun, too!

The birds were singing, the water was running, and everyone was moving.  The leaves are just coming out and the Earth felt warm and alive.  It made me feel grateful to be alive and out walking and sharing the day with others.  My friend said that walking made her feel good and also positive.  For me, walking was about rejuvenation and healing.  

We all have different reasons to be out walking.  We can walk to exercise, to spend time with friends, to release frustration or anger, and to enjoy the fresh air.  Walking with my friend is a different experience than walking with my dog.  My dog, Merlin, likes to stop and sniff and prowl around a bit.  He likes to greet people and then keep going.  He doesn’t like to stop and talk.  He likes a slow walk and no more than an hour or he is played out.  

Where ever you are, I hope that today you have a chance to walk outside, close to trees and water.  It is so wonderful!

Walking Meditation

When I first learned to meditate, based on all the instructions from teachers and from books, I thought that one had to sit quietly, in a lotus position, and push all thoughts out of one’s head if you were going to meditate properly.  Over the years, I have learned that there are many ways to meditate, depending on what belief system you follow and where you are when you want to meditate.

I have learned to love the walking meditation which is an active meditation practiced in Buddhism and in Shamanism.  Walking meditation is not limited to these traditions.  Meditation while walking may seem like a contradiction of activity versus focus.  However, one must be extremely mindful while walking in meditation.  You concentrate on your steps, your breath, and on the world around you.  Mindfulness is part of the strength of the walking meditation.  The steps one takes bring clarity of what needs to be dealt with, or what emotion needs adjusting, and, gives space for a different point of view.  For many practitioners, the walking meditation is a prayer to Nature and to the Universe.

When something troubles me and I cannot seem to get a grip on it, I leave the house and do a walking meditation.  I focus on my steps and my breath and leave the troubled thoughts behind.  Sometimes, it takes a half hour before the soothing peace covers you as you walk.  It make take an hour or so for a simple solution to appear as you walk.  The physical activity helps you work off the tension and stress and walking is just a good health strategy anyway.
