I sometimes get behind in reading my email.  I get daily updates from the site - Daily Motivation - and I love the positive words that the site shares with us.

The affirmations above were sent out on February 1, 2025 but I did not read them until today.  My bad.  I am sharing them with you so that you can pick the affirmations that speak to you and so that you can add them to your life, if you want.

Each day, I look to find an affirmation that speaks to me and that helps me make sense of something going on in my life in a positive way.

Enjoy the journey!

Blessings,

Judy

On Being Positive

One of my friends sent me information on positive change.  She thought that I might share it with people who look at my blog.   I went further and found that the information comes from Selacia.  Her advice is great.  The links to her site are at the bottom of the article.  Enjoy!

Accelerate Your Transformation

- Tips to Jump Start Positive Change -
by Selacia

Tips to Jump Start Positive Change

1. Challenging Circumstances- When faced with a challenge, keep your focus in present time. Even if what you are experiencing began long ago, you want to respond with today's energy. As part of your lifelong process of transformation, your energy shifts from day to day. Insights and processing from last night's dreaming can provide you with fresh perspectives and more lightness of being. When looking at your challenge, invite your higher wisdom to guide you in applying a higher awareness and fully utilizing your current knowing. You may be pleasantly surprised with the positive results.

2. A Time for Everything- Life is often so fast paced that it's common to feel behind schedule. Relax your body and mind for moments here and there as you intuitively check in about timings. Indeed, there's a time for everything. Remember this before jumping into your next activity. Oftentimes what you planned, no matter how important it seems, is best left until after you have done something else - which can be an activity or simply being still. Your heart and intuitively guided reason can show you the way. Check in with yourself to determine if what you planned for the day needs to shift, and then make adjustments. You will be happy you did.

3. Manifesting Your Vision- As you pick the less traveled road for the next portion of your unique journey, inquire within to be sure that it's wide enough and extends far enough to accommodate your goals and expansive vision. As a divine changemaker, you are learning to express your highest potentials. Do not limit yourself to what your doubts tell you to settle for, or for what others have told you is possible. Embrace the expanded view spirit has for your life.

4. Roadblocks- Consider that the roadblock you face is a symbol that you may need to update your view. Sometimes a detour or alternative approach is required. This may involve a different timing, implementing something you haven't yet thought of, or even abandoning your idea altogether. A divine changemaker learns to see roadblocks as opportunities for spiritual practice - they aren't the enemy; they may be a blessing in disguise.

5. Positive Potentials - Each day carries within it a positive potential and energies you can apply for your own enlightenment. Connect with more of the positive potentials available by regularly acknowledging that they exist. This is easier on some days than others, of course. Even so, get into the habit of remembering this lighter side of being. A new opportunity waits each time you open your eyes in a new way - without expectations and without focusing on what you created before.  When you are open to the next wonderful surprise arriving on your doorstep - letting go of how and when it shows up - you become like a magnet for your own good.

January 1 2025

This is the year that many things will change.  We are now in the future that we were told would never come.

A time of truth is coming in to being.  Lies, cheats, bribes, wrong doing, and all kinds of untruthful and harmful ways of acting will be exposed.  Some events are already exposed.

As we stand here, be thankful for all that we have – food, clothes, housing, and technology that allows to communicate across the world in minutes. Every time that we are grateful and give thanks for what we have, we create a positive environment that benefits everyone.

Blessings to each of you!

Overcoming Helplessness

Picture of clouds lifting from Microsoft Clip Art…

I had a question from a reader asking how one can overcome helplessness.  It was not clear if the helplessness was for the person or for a friend.  Keep in mind that often helplessness is a learned behaviour . It is learned from parents who tell you that you cannot do anything and therefore do everything for you.  And it can come from an injury or illness where others must do everything for you because you are helpless at the time.  Then, being helpless feels comfortable because one is used to it.  Helplessness becomes a way of life.

Some of the tools that I use in coaching folks on how to move beyond helplessness, comes from a book Helplessness by Martin E. P. Seligman.  If you feel helpless or you have someone that you see as helpless or powerless in your life, try this, and read the book.

“Helplessness, then, can be recognized by:

  1. Lack of motivation, listlessness.
  2. Cognitive breakdown between actions and outcomes - inability to link actions to the consequences they bring about - also manifests as blaming others or external factors for your situation, condition, and outcomes.
  3. Negative emotions: boredom, anxiety, frustration, anger, hopelessness, depression (sometimes suicidal).

Apply this procedure to cure helplessness:

  1. Recognize your helplessness, lack of motivation, listlessness.
  2. Recognize that as a baby and subsequently you've had many experiences where you were unable to control consequences or outcomes.
  3. Recognize your negative emotions: boredom, anxiety, frustration, anger, hopelessness, depression. Acknowledge them to yourself, for example, by saying, "I recognize that I feel helpless, hopeless, and depressed."
  4. Consciously and deliberately choose to experience any or all of these emotions. Make a cognitive link between that choice and what you experience, for example, by saying to yourself, "I consciously decide to feel helpless, hopeless, and depressed. Therefore I feel helpless, hopeless, and depressed."
  5. Perform a simple action such as washing the dishes or combing your hair. Observe the consequences or outcome. Form a cognitive link between your action and its outcome. (Examples below.)
  6. Divide a sheet of paper into three columns. In the second column list both positive and negative outcomes you've experienced during the past 24 hours, including emotions. In the first column write down your corresponding actions or inactions that preceded those outcomes. In the third column write down the causal or cognitive links between actions/inactions and outcomes. Consider only your own actions and inactions. (How to express the causal or cognitive link is explained below.)
  7. Don't blame others or external factors for anything.
  8. Pat yourself on the back for all the positive consequences you did produce.”

Doe In the Snow

image

This morning as my dog and I walked in the small off leash dog park, we were startled by a Doe (Deer) plunging uphill through the snow.  It seemed she was running to us. Then she was about fifteen feet away when she veered away.  She made intense eye contact with us and in her huffing, seemed to be sounding out a message.  I thought that it was for me, however, it does seem to be for all of us.

She says:

“Even though it may seem at the moment, that all of your movement is uphill, the feeling is momentary.  When one lives in rolling landscapes, one can expect “rolling” times – both uphill and downhill.  Uphill builds one’s strength at a core level, and makes one healthier and able to bear all things.  Being strong is a positive.  Anyone who simply travels downhill all the time does not have the endurance for life, and will eventually get to the bottom, and lay down and die.

Sometimes the choicest twigs are on the bushes on the side of the hill.  Because the bushes are spread out, they get more sun, and they are tastier!  One must work harder to get there and one does not need to compete with others for the bushes in the valley.

Breaking a path in the snow is hard work.  All new trails, however, are started by one being.  I am a trail blazer.  Are you?”

Judy

Wonderful Things Happen

This picture comes from https://spiritualquotestoliveby.com/positive-attitude-sayings/

I was walking with a friend on Friday and we talked about how things happen in life.  I firmly believe that all things happen as they should - in the right time and season.  Therefore, I do not get stuck on a bad situation because it always leads to something wonderful.  And very positive.  It is when you get stuck that things go badly.

Accepting each situation that happens means going in the flow.  Try it.  When we move with the Universe in harmony then abundance and love and life happen.

Many blessings,

Judy

Affirmations are a Gift!

The image below is from www.mysticmum.co.uk.  What a wonderful poster!

image

Yesterday, I watched a short movie called “THE STRANGEST SECRET”.    The key point in the movie is that by changing what you think about and how you think about anything, you can change your life.  This same thought was the theme of the movie “A KNIGHT’S TALE” starring Heath Ledger.  In fact, the theme was – You can change your stars!

Listening to Nightingale talk sent me back to a sales and marketing course that I took many years ago.  In that three day workshop, I learned ten affirmations that I still use today.  Here they are:

  1. You like yourself unconditionally. You really like yourself.
  2. You always speak in positive terms about yourself and others.
  3. You enjoy and appreciate everyone you meet. You like them, and they like you.
  4. You always decide for yourself what is best for you, and you allow others the same right.
  5. You accept complete responsibility for your life, and for your reactions to all situations.
  6. You enjoy excellent health, and you are easily able to relax at any time.
  7. You are always calm, confident, and self assured in your interactions with others, with groups as well as with individuals.
  8. You are very creative in all areas of your life, always tapping more and more into your super conscious mind.
  9. You have an excellent memory, and you easily recall names, numbers, and information.
  10. You are a total winner and you are completely successful at everything that you undertake to do.

When I say them, I change the word “you” to “I”.  When I listen to them as a meditation, I keep the word “you”.  Repeating each affirmation five times solidifies the meaning in your mind.  Five is the number of “getting things done”.

I asked my guides if affirmations work.  They responded that affirmations are simply mantras.  In a recent blog, I gave this explanation of a mantra.

Mantra repetition simply means  repeating a sentence or group of words that have a phonetic significance.

Mantra is intrinsically related to sound. Mantra is sound, and sound is reverberating in everything in this universe. When water flows, the gurgling sound it makes, is mantra. When wind blows through the trees, the  rustling sound it produces is mantra.  When we walk on the earth, our footsteps produce sound, and that too is mantra.

Many eastern mantras are repeated 100 times at a sitting.  Imagine the change in your body, mind, and spirit if you repeated the above affirmations 100 times a day.  Why not try it? Start with five repetitions of each affirmation, and see what change happens for you.  Let me know the results.

You Have Boundless Energy Within You

 image

You have heard the saying, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going".  It seems that the last several months in Alberta have proved that saying over and over as various things happen to people.  Fires, displacement from homes because of fires, layoffs, tragedies, giving up homes because mortgages cannot be met, facing disease, and the list goes on.  The balance of life seems out of whack.

I look at the firefighters that have been battling the fires in the North of Alberta, and I say that these men must have found that place inside themselves where nothing is impossible for they are doing the impossible.  They are filled with Purpose.  They have created a change in the way that the fire behaves.  They have fought and prayed, and called on Creator to help them.  They are filled with positivity, with hope, even when everything is black and smoke filled.  Wow.

Judy

Positive Talk

 image

This is the positive talk that we all need to be saying to ourselves everyday! Throw out the negative talk.

We can be our own healers with positive talk,

We can bring ourselves in balance,  We can push away hurt.  We can surround ourselves with love and spread love to others.  We can change the direction that our thoughts go.  We are amazing!

Try it.

Blessings,

Judy

Patience Solves Problems

 image

The Ancestors tell us that to accomplish what they have accomplished takes great patience.  Simple tools and difficult environments meant that to build a house or a barn or a fence took a great deal of time.

Our Ancestors laugh at us because they see that we want everything instantly.  We, the descendants, do not know patience.  Patience brings positivity.  Patience brings change slowly.  Patience gives us the courage to say hard things.

Today, lack of patience causes road rage, crimes against people and businesses, and huge misinterpretations and misunderstandings.

Today, slow down.  Practice patience.

Many blessings,

Judy

What Have I Done?

Breathe in the beauty around you

Sometimes a sentence catches you - and won't let go.  A quote by Michael Michalko who wrote THINKING LIKE A GENIUS: Eight strategies used by the super creative, from Aristotle and Leonardo to Einstein and Edison is one such quote.  He said, " Do not ask the question "Why have I failed?", but rather "What have I done?" ".  The concept is so simple it becomes brilliant.

All of our training has been about not failing, and if we have not performed as others expect us to perform - we are judged! We are judged as having failed, or as failures.  What does this mean?  It means that we have not failed! In fact we have done something that the other person could not do, and in some cases, would not even attempt.  How is it then that they could pass judgement on us as failing?

The sad part of the whole scenario is that you and I have bought in to this.  This is what we learned.  So, we do not celebrate our achievements.  Instead, we pass judgement on them as though there is a special rating system for each activity that we do.

We need to change the way we think.  We are unique; each of us is unique.  Therefore, anything that we do is going to be different than the way others may perform a task.  How we perform it does not mean it is wrong.  Does a silver or bronze medallion winner at the Olympics go around saying that they have failed because they did not win the gold medal?  Of course not!  They have achieved a feat that only the person winning the medal ranking higher has been able to achieve. And, they achieved it at the same time.  How can anyone dispute their success?

So the next time the task that you are working through does not go according to plan.  Step back.  Look at the steps and say, "What have I just achieved?"  As the Law of Attraction says, focus on the positive.  The results will come.

Have a brilliant time achieving!
