Affirmation to Turn Thinking Around

Elbow River Boat Launch Turn Out in Elbow Falls Recreation Area July 2023 - J Hirst

All is well. Everything is working out for my highest good. Out of this situation only good will come. I am safe. - Louise Hay

We all have days where we feel that everything is going wrong.  It is on these days that we can create more problems for ourselves simply by reinforcing our very bad mood.  The challenge always is - how do we change this feeling of doom and gloom around?

There are several different ways to change your mood.  Method one is to think of happy things and to think about funny situations that have occurred in your life.  You can think about a place that it happened or you can think about the person or people that it happened with.  I usually think about a person that I have had an adventure with that resulted in some funny stories.

Method two is to take a few minutes to meditate and go to your happy place and meditate yourself calm knowing that nothing is permanent, and all will change.

Method three is to use Louise Hay’s affirmation or mantra, and repeat it to yourself until you feel your body shift.  The first part - All is well - tells you that nothing is forever and that whatever is happening to you is a blip on life.  Every thing is working out for my highest good - tells you that although you cannot see it, the outcome from this situation will surprise you and the results will be very helpful to you.  The last part - I am safe - has the most significance because when we move into an unhappy thinking place, we tend to feel not safe.  So we become defensive to anyone who approaches us, and that often makes a bad situation worse.  We need to remember that we are safe.

Many blessings,

Judy

The Sound of OM

Before Covid I was teaching a beginner’s meditation class, and as part of the workshop, explained the concept of the word/sound “OM” to the participants.  Then we did some experiential learning with the sound, both with only me saying the sound, and then with all of us saying the sound.

Students felt the vibration from the sound whether I did it or whether they did it. And, they were profoundly moved!

'ॐ' is a kind of shortcut of the word 'ओम' in DevaNagari and other Indic scripts – from omgayatri.com

Here is part of a slide that I presented on “OM”.

Mantra repetition simply means  repeating a sentence or group of words that have a phonetic significance.

Mantra is intrinsically related to sound. Mantra is sound, and sound is reverberating in everything in this universe. When water flows, the gurgling sound it makes, is mantra. When wind blows through the trees, the  rustling sound it produces is mantra.  When we walk on the earth, our footsteps produce sound, and that too is mantra.

According to ancient Indian belief  in the beginning there was sound, which  reverberated as Om and from that sound everything came into existence.

I believe that the sound OM, pronounced A-U-M and strung out (Pronunciation: aaaaauuuuummmmm), really is the the sound of Divine creation.  I have seen people chant this for a while, and then suddenly break out in hard sobbing, because, through the chant, they have been reconnected to The Divine, and the person feels an incredible blessing and release.  I know that when I have an issue that I can not seem to move with other tools, that I can generally move it within ten minutes by using the OM chant.

OM or Aum is a Sanskrit root word or seed-sound symbolizing the creative divine intelligence which creates ands sustains all things: It is also known as the cosmic vibratory intelligent word of God that sustains all the created universes. Aum of the Vedas became the sacred word Hum of the Tibetans; Amin of the Moslems; and Amen of the Egyptians Greeks, Romans, Jews and Christians. OM symbol  and info from www.astrogems.com

One of the stories that I shared in the workshop was about using OM out in Nature. Quite a few years ago, before our park got so busy, my husband, Roger, and I walked out in the park almost every evening during the summer.  Often, we would find a big log beside the river sub-channel, and sit and OM.  Often while we sat there chanting, the beavers would bring their supper of sticks, and come and sit on the river bank, close to where we were sitting, and chow down and listen to the concert.  When we were done, they would swim off.  The beaver’s actions told me that they, too, enjoy the sound of The Divine.

If you have never tried to say the sound “OM”, I invite you to try it now.  Try it several times a day.  It is a wonderful pick-me-up!

Many Blessings,

Judy

How To Live Life

 image

Our Ancestors had very little in the way of choice for each activity that they did through out the day.  The one thing that they could choose was how they approached life.  The best choice was to be fearless, hopeful, moderate in eating, more quiet than talkative, and very loving.

This sounds like a great mantra for living life every day, even in current times.  While many say that we do not have a choice in things, all of the activities above are choices we can make to change our life.

Today, choose one activity and concentrate on achieving it throughout the day.

Many Blessings,

Judy

Hello Healing - A Healing Mantra

One of the most common asks that I get is “how do I heal myself of a woundor soreness to differentparts of my body?”  It is a great question!  The following healing process is one that I use immediately after I hurt myself. Some examples are falling on the ice and hurting a knee or elbow or wrist.  Another example is running and straining a calf or thigh muscle.  I am sure that you can think of many examples where you need “instant” healing.  And, yes, it does work on long term ailments.  However, the process takes days and months of repeating the mantra.

Here is the mantra that works wonders.

 Say:  Hello, Healing

Say hello: Dear soul, mind, and body of my (insert what needs healing, leg, hand, heart, etc)
Give love: I love you
Make an affirmation: You have the memory of how to heal yourself, and you have the power to heal yourself
Give an order: Do a very good job!
Express gratitude and courtesy: Thank you! I love you.

Repeat every day. It can be applied to everything, self, groups, relationships, irrespective of distances.

This comes from "Soul Mind Body Medicine", Dr. Zhi Gang Sha

Note that Dr. Sha says that the sequence in the hello must be 'soul, mind, body' and that other sequences are not effective.  That may have been true at the time of writing.  However, I have experimented with the order, and just used soul and mind, and the effective release of what ever ailment has been quite miraculous.

Happy healing…

And, many blessings,

Judy

Welcome February 2023

Picture by Judy Hirst and used with permission

After a long span of winter with cold temperatures and lots of snow, all of us in the North look to February to signal a change in the weather.  The first really warm rays of sun hit us and we feel better for the sun on our face.

February is a time of Peacefulness when we know that the worst of the weather is most often behind us and we start looking at our seed catalogues for ideas for the garden and for the flower beds.

It is a time where it is easy to close your eyes and sink into peaceful meditation as you contemplate the beauty of Nature.  An easy mantra to use is:

Nature surrounds me and protects me.

            Nature heals me.

Nature supports me to be me!

Blessings to each of you,

Judy

Self Needs Care!

                             image

Picture comes from an email, therefore source is not known.

I have been quite busy with healing from surgery and with some family stuff.  The Angels have been telling me that I need to make sure that as well as taking care of others and other things, that I must take care of myself.  They say that I need more rest and more fun.  I am planning some fun things!

As always, when I need something to spur me to action, a nifty article comes my way. Here is a fantastic meditation or mantra on self care from Louise Hay.

I love my body.
My body is perfect for me at this time. My body weight is also perfect. I am exactly where I choose to be. I am beautiful, and every day I become more attractive. This concept used to be very hard for me to accept, yet things are changing now that I am treating myself as if I were someone who was deeply loved. I’m learning to reward myself with healthy little treats and pleasures now and again. Little acts of love nurture me, doing things that I really like, such as quiet time, a walk in nature, a hot soothing bath, or anything that really gives me pleasure. I enjoy caring for myself. I believe it is okay to like myself and
to be my own best friend. I know my body is filled with star light and that I sparkle and glow everywhere I go.

-----Excerpt taken from Meditations to Heal Your Life by Louise Hay

Many blessings on your journey today.

Listen to Your Ancestors

                            image

I found this poster/saying when I was looking for information on being Swedish.  My husband’s grandparents came from Sweden.  They came to Canada for a different way of life and for the adventure of starting something new.
