Leaving a Toxic Relationship

image

A question came in from a reader about how to go about leaving a toxic relationship.  This is a post that I did on another blog about five years ago.  The problem and solutions have not changed in the past five years.  I hope that each reader finds this helpful.

**********************************************************************************************************

Life is about exploring new things, practicing skills to become masterful at them, and its about meeting new people and having new experiences.

What do you do if your life has a toxic situation in it – for example a toxic person or toxic group? Well, you need to let go of them.  How do you recognize these people?

Qualities of a Toxic Person

Life coach Cheryl Richardson describes five types of toxic qualities in people:

  • Blamer (keeps complaining)
  • Drainer (always needs you and contacts you only when he needs you)
  • Shamer (keeps criticising you)
  • Discounter (discounts or challenges everything you say)
  • Gossip (keeps talking about others at their back)

If he/she is any or all of the above, you just get him/her out of your life, please. (From https://thoughtcatalog.com/surabhi-surendra/2016/08/this-is-how-you-let-go-of-a-toxic-relationship/)

Why You Need to Let A Toxic Person Go

The following advice comes from https://tinybuddha.com/blog/letting-go-of-unhealthy-relationships-and-rediscovering-yourself/.

If you, like me, have considered letting someone go, ask yourself these questions:

How do you feel in their presence: drained or alive? Does the person always have your best interests in mind? Do they belittle you when you share your feelings? Do they make promises and never follow up?

If you answered yes to the final two questions, it might be time to move on to make space in your life for healthy, happy relationships.

The Process of Letting Go Of A Toxic Relationship

(From https://tinybuddha.com/blog/letting-go-of-unhealthy-relationships-and-rediscovering-yourself/)

1. Express your feelings in a letter.

Focus on one relationship that’s draining you and write a letter to the person you want to let go. Pour out your feelings onto the paper. The letter can be as long or short as you want.

End the letter with, “I release you across all space and time. Thank you for helping me learn and grow.” Fold the paper, burn it, and bury it in the ground to signify a complete release to the universe. This particular ritual is magical. I instantly start to feel lighter.

2. Clear your physical space.

Physical cleaning is so helpful when you are letting go of the past. Our physical space is a representation of what we’re giving space in our life.

Sell or donate any gifts you received, and burn any letters from the person you’re tying to let go. You’re going to face a lot of resistance; you’ll come up with reasons to hold on to these things. Remind yourself that this crucial to moving on and feeling happier with yourself and your life.

3. Get clear on what you need.

Write down how you want to feel in your life and within your relationships.

This is how I want my life and relationships to feel:

  • Alive
  • Filled with laughter
  • Supportive
  • Loving
  • Understanding

If you’re not sure how you want to feel on the whole, start with just the immediate future. How do you want to feel this month?

4. Start filling the empty space.

Now that you’ve created a safe space by releasing unhealthy relationships, write a list of activities that will help you feel and experience your desires. For example, you could join a dance group to feel alive.

Put a little time into your passion every day. Writing makes me come alive, so I make sure to write daily.  Any passion that you spend time on will be healing.

As you start dedicating time to things that are important to you, the right people will come into your life—people who see and appreciate you for who you really are.

Remember that this is information only and does take the place of medical advice from a doctor or mental health professional.

Who is Saint Germain?

Picture from intuitivefred888.blogspot.com

A while ago, a reader asked, "Who is Saint Germain?".  This blog is to talk about Saint Germain.

Who?
Saint Germain is an ascended master or spirit energy that existed on earth long before the birth of Christ.  Some belief systems relate Saint Germain to an individual person, such a a Count in the time of the rise of Theosophy, or as a supporter of the Catholic Church in the early rise of the church. He is an energy that reincarnates from time to time through out history.  For those gifted with seeing the unseen, he is described as mid forties, surrounded by purple light or flame, and appears very much like the picture above.  Some refer to Saint Germain as a part of the Age of Aquarius. However, as he has been around a long time, he is part of many ages.  Many writers associate Saint Germain as part of the age of justice, freedom, and mercy.

Where?
Saint Germain appears at gatherings of spiritual people to help them, as a sponsor, to work on understanding the vibration of higher light and existence.  You may hear him named as "The Violet Flame" or "Keeper of the Seventh Ray".  He appears to individuals in mediation to guide the person to good works, acts of compassion, and subtle healing.

Why Call On Saint Germain?
There are many reasons to call on Saint Germain.  Call on him for any of the following instances:
  • When you want a higher consciousness to lead you through a meditation
  • If you have questions about whether something that you are required to do is good or bad or for the greatest and highest good
  • If you need some spiritual healing
  • When you are looking for answers about next steps in your life, making changes in your life, or, if you are having a crisis of some sort
Saint Germain energy is a gentleness that has been around planet Earth for a very very long time.  Call on him in a meditation to see whether you want to work with him.

I hope this answers the questions about Saint Germain.  Please email me with any other questions.

Adjusting to Daylight Saving Time

Picture of spring flowers taken by Roger Joyeux and used with permission

Aaahh!  Spring!  And the return to the dreaded time change...spring forward.  On Sunday March 12, we changed to daylight saving time. The natural balance of our bodies was disrupted.  The circadian rhythm of the past six months changed.

Researchers have shown that the incidents of traffic accidents and the number of errors that people make increase for about a month or so.  Less time for some people and more for others.  People feel draggy, have problems sleeping the nights following the time change, and are more cranky.

Getting past the effects of the time change

To get past the effects of the time change, people can choose to do one of several things:

  • Clear and balance your chakras using either music created for chakra balancing or using a meditation specifically for balancing the chakras,
  • Use the EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) to tap through your body and mind resistance to the time change,
  • Find a Reiki practitioner and have the practitioner help you work through the fog, confusion or whatever issue haunts you through the time change
  • Try getting up two hours before your normal wake up time and do several things for yourself before starting your regular day.
  • Sit in meditation in the early morning to discover why the time change is affecting you and make any changes that come up in the meditation.
Each of the above items has been recommended by different individuals who found that these processes helped them quickly adjust to the time change.  It may work for you.  Remember, if you have any medical challenge, do check with your doctor before you try something new, especially if you are on medication.

Many blessings,
Judy

Using Meditation to Promote Healing

Picture is by Judy Hirst, taken at a beach on Kawai in 2015

The other night, I could not sleep as my back was hurting from two hours of polishing the oak walls and shelves in our family room.  This winter, with some very cold days, was drying out the wood.  I lay in bed and contemplated life.  I felt a a pressure to meditate so I did.

Many years ago I learned a process in BodyTalk (TM) that helped us create a very safe place in celestial space.  For me, the space that I created was a house that had a library, office, lovely living room/sitting area, a healing room and a gym area. I worked through the process to sink into the meditation and into calmness.

In my meditation, I found that I had new caretakers for my library.  Three beautiful white horses named Beauty, Hope, and Grace, looked after the library and kept the place clean and organized and acted as security.  When I asked if they had any wisdom  for me, the advice they gave was that I needed to eat a lot more green... lettuce, cabbage, spinach, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, and include a lot of fruit.  They also said that I needed to walk and exercise to get stronger to carry the vibrations of change that are coming with the Equinox.

After visiting with the horses, I went to my healing room and lay on the bed of healing light, asking it to send healing waves into my back and shoulders.  I lay there for what seemed like a long time.  When I moved off the bed, I felt lighter.

It was time to come back.  I followed the process to come out of the meditation and came to awareness at 4:45am.  I wiggled my back.  It felt so good!  The aches were gone.  I drifted off to sleep.

Note:

You can find out more about the BodyTalk System at IBA Global Healing | Home (bodytalksystem.com).  Note that I am not promoting this site, I am simply providing it as a reference.  I do not benefit or profit from making this reference.

Comfortable and Wise

  image

Picture’s origin is not known as it was part of an email.

The most comfortable and wisest people are those who watch their health when they are healthy; guard their country when it is untroubled; and cultivate their fields well when weeds are nonexistent or scarce.
—Venerable Chwasan, “The Grace in This World” - a Buddhist

The Archangels share many ideas with us, and the wisdom today is about being on guard.  This means that we must not slip into complacency about health, protection, growing our food, and tending our animals and children.

Mankind is a caretaker of many things, and over time, mankind has forgotten how to care-take himself and others.  This is a tragedy that has transpired into many businesses that profit from the idea of doing your caretaking for you.

Today, choose one thing to be more mindful about.  It may be looking after plants at home or in the office.  Become the best that you can be at this task.

Many blessings,

Judy

Wind Speaks To Us

Listen to the wind. It talks. Listen to the silence. It speaks.
Listen to your heart. It knows.
~ Native American Proverb
Picture on Highway 1 through Banff National Park with wind by Judy Hirst from 2021

There are many people who believe in the power of the wind.  Authors have written about it.  Song writers have penned beautiful songs about the wind.  Animals move with the wind.  And, of course, climate changes with the wind.

Wind tells us that change is coming and often, that it is time for us to change.  Wind reminds us that we are, as the song goes, “dust in the wind”.  For all the wealth and power in the world does not stop how the wind wears down the land and stirs up the sea and oceans into massive waves.

Patience Solves Problems

 image

The Ancestors tell us that to accomplish what they have accomplished takes great patience.  Simple tools and difficult environments meant that to build a house or a barn or a fence took a great deal of time.

Our Ancestors laugh at us because they see that we want everything instantly.  We, the descendants, do not know patience.  Patience brings positivity.  Patience brings change slowly.  Patience gives us the courage to say hard things.

Today, lack of patience causes road rage, crimes against people and businesses, and huge misinterpretations and misunderstandings.

Today, slow down.  Practice patience.

Many blessings,

Judy
