What Is Your Hot Button?

We all have personal sensitivities—“hot buttons”—that are evoked in close relationships. Mindfulness practice helps us to identify them and disengage from our habitual reactions, so that we can reconnect with our partners. We can mindfully address recurring problems with a simple four-step technique: (1) Feel the emotional pain of disconnection, (2) Accept that the pain is a natural and healthy sign of disconnection, and the need to make a change, (3) Compassionately explore the personal issues or beliefs being evoked within yourself, (4) Trust that a skillful response will arise at the right moment.  – Christopher Germer, "Getting Along"

I read this quote and realized how appropriate it is for these times when we are all on a short fuse and anxious about what will happen.  I wondered how many people are finding that the hot buttons that they thought were dealt with are now popping up in the most odd places, and anger is being triggered.  Or perhaps it is not anger, it is simply the huge reaction (emotional) that you have to something.  Triggers are all about learning – around self, family, and beliefs.

What beliefs do you carry that are not helping you?  What values are out dated?  What people are no longer going to be part of your life because you need to move on?

These questions are ones that we see pop up everyday.  How are you handling them?

Judy

Differences are Due to Ego!

image

There are two types of people--those who come into a room and say, 'Well, here I am!' and those who come in and say, 'Ah, there you are.'   Frederick L Collins

One of my friends and i were having a fascinating conversation about the different styles that people have – styles for getting tasks accomplished in a group, or for getting people to gather behind a belief or value, or even for entering a room.  And then, coincidently, one of my friends sent the wonderful quote above.  (I love how the Universe works to give you confirmation of the ideas that pop up in your life!)

The Angels say that we all come into this world to experience different styles, and to understand different things.  We all have uniqueness that expresses through our posture, our speech, and through how we do things.

The Angels flashed me back to the StarTalker Quest class that I taught in the past, when we were all making Prayersticks.  At the end, each of our Prayersticks did look a lot like us.  That is to say, our unique style carried in to how we decorated our Prayerstick.

The last thought from the Angels was, “The idea of uniqueness is that humans are all experiencing something different because humans are all the same and want to have adventures.”  And then they laughed!

Kodiak Bear In My Meditation

         image

I sat in meditation and breathed slowly sinking into a place of a running river, flowing over and around rocks.  Forest bordered the river about fifty feet from the sides of the river.  I then became conscious of movement to the right of me.  There was a very, very large brownish red bear.  I was startled even though I knew I had nothing to fear.

I welcomed the bear.  He replied that he was a Kodiak Bear.  He had some sharing to provide to the world.

  • Do not be afraid to let your unique abilities shine through at this time.  Each of us has a different way of dealing with a situation.  The time for you to act is now.
  • Find your mate, and stick with them.  Each of you is drawn to the other so that you both may grow.  It is the way of things.
  • Use your language and your body stance to defend your position.  It will earn you respect.  Fighting does not earn any  respect, and instead, demeans who you are.
  • Define what you are able to do, what you are good at, and what you are great at.  Pursue the greatness in you.  It emerges at the most appropriate time.

I thanked Kodiak, and he drifted away.

Blessings,

Judy

Stargazing in Australia

When I read the article below, I felt a rightness about the fact that the ancestors – those in Australia or in Great Britain or in Asia, or where ever -  had a greater understanding of the stars and planets then we do now.  Our ancestors were the first stargazers, startalkers, and starwalkers.

For me, this article is a tribute to the ancient’s way of mapping the stars.  It was part of their faith, and their belief that the stars and planets were in service to man to help man understand how to move across the land.  Stars and planets were the first compass.

This article is for you to read.

Have a wonderful day!

ABORIGINAL STONEHENGE: STARGAZING IN ANCIENT AUSTRALIA

An egg-shaped ring of standing stones in Australia could prove to be older than Britain's Stonehenge - and it may show that ancient Aboriginal cultures had a deep understanding of the movements of the stars.  Continue reading the main story

Hallejah! Say the Angels

image

Greetings Beloveds!   As all the changes happen, the word that we Angels sing over and over is “Hallelujah”.  This word means “praise all” although it is often translated as “praise God”.   When we sing this word we are praising everything  - all the humans and animals and birds and insects and fish and plants and trees and water and dirt and air and fire and stones – all things.  This includes everything in the Universe – stars and planets and comets and gases and nebulas and space junk and sounds – everything!

We are meant to praise everything right now because it is so beautiful and so perfect!  There is perfection in the world right now.  The feminine is rising to clean the corruption and the power and the hate.  The feminine has always been about love and cleaning.

The Earth is rising in her power, and she is cleaning the the things that no longer suit her – the polluted water ways and beaches; the abuses of her minerals and the concrete that spans her girth.

Hallelujah

Welcome October 2024

This picture looks like the parks around our area.  October comes in, and the leaves change colour.  The changes are reflected in life around us.  I have so many friends that are changing –  locations, houses, spouses, jobs, and even careers.  This year is the year of shedding the things that do not work in our lives.

I see the changes that are happening too, in the world.  I see people working to unlock the secrets that are supposed to protect us, the people, because we will panic.  When information is kept from us, it means that someone else’s ego is working overtime, saying that they as a person or as a group of people are better than the rest of us.  I am grateful to the folks who think it is time to end secrets and end corruption.  Change is good. It is hard and takes effort, but it is good.

Here is a lovely poem by Robert Frost that talks about the changes in Nature.  Enjoy.

October

by Robert Frost

O hushed October morning mild,
Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;
Tomorrow's wind, if it be wild,
Should waste them all.
The crows above the forest call;
Tomorrow they may form and go.
O hushed October morning mild,
Begin the hours of this day slow.
Make the day seem to us less brief.
Hearts not averse to being beguiled,
Beguile us in the way you know.
Release one leaf at break of day;
At noon release another leaf;
One from our trees, one far away.
Retard the sun with gentle mist;
Enchant the land with amethyst.
Slow, slow!
For the grapes' sake, if the were all,
Whose leaves already are burnt with frost,
Whose clustered fruit must else be lost--
For the grapes' sake along the all.

Peacock and Seeing

When I am meditating, and an animal comes in to speak about life, I am always intrigued, and invite them in with enthusiasm.  This was how I felt with Peacock.

Peacock had a message around seeing things.  His message is:

  • Peacocks are known for their prowess in killing snakes.  Watch for the snake in the grass – the one that has a big agenda that does not include you.  Protect yourself!
  • Many say that the spots in my feathers represent the all-seeing eye.  In some cultures, the eye wards off evil or wards off curses.  My feathers do offer protection to me.  Whether they are part of your path and sacred to you is your journey.
  • Beware anyone that tries to dazzle you with the extravagant because this is usually for show and does not have substance.  When you are in a business deal where this is happening, do ask “show me the money!”.
  • In most cultures, the circle is the symbol of cycles, and of continuity.  This is why there are circles on my feathers, to remind you that you may have been in this place before.  If you did not like it, then now is the time to change -  career, life, relationships, beliefs  -  all can be changed.

I thanked Peacock for his wisdom and bid him good bye.

Blessings,

Judy
